The Reading Foundation is seeking a research support staff member for 32 hours per week.The research support staff member will contribute to policy and knowledge development in the area of reading promotion.

As a research assistant, you will perform preparatory, support, and operational tasks related to research and research communication. In doing so, you will contribute to the success of the Research Team, of which you are a member, and to Stichting Lezen as a whole.

You will actively contribute to research activities, including:

  • Support in the development, supervision, and implementation of various studies related to reading (for example, you will contribute ideas on formulating relevant research questions and designing questionnaires)
  • conducting small-scale evaluations of meetings and campaigns
  • programming questionnaires in a digital survey tool
  • collecting and processing reach figures for reading promotion campaigns and educational materials 
  • keeping track of national and international scientific literature on reading and the promotion of reading.

You will also play an active role in organizational and/or administrative tasks, including:

  • ·coordinating the publication process for research publications 
  • editing and proofreading for the research section of the website (Leesmonitor)
  • support in organizing conferences and other knowledge-sharing events 

What do you bring to the table?

  • You have a relevant educational background (e.g., early childhood education, educational sciences, Dutch language and literature, literary studies) at the associate degree level or higher.
  • You have experience with and an interest in (scientific) research and reading promotion
  • You have knowledge of the scientific and social context of Stichting Lezen, or are willing to acquire it
  • You have excellent communication and writing skills  
  • You have an excellent command of spoken and written Dutch.

The salary range is between €2,950 and €3,150 gross per month, based on a 36-hour workweek. The exact salary will depend on age, education, and experience.
