More about this organization
A row of old, worn books stands side by side, their pages and spines clearly visible.

At Meulenhoff Boekerij, we’re passionate about stories that inspire, entertain, and enrich. Our books are worth every word: these are must-reads, whether in print, as an e-book, or as an audiobook. Meulenhoff Boekerij is part of LannooMeulenhoff and is based in Amsterdam.

We still sell a lot of books through brick-and-mortar bookstores, but sales through our e-commerce channel are growing. We are also the market leader in e-books, and we have ambitious plans for publishing audiobooks. To maintain and further expand this position, we are looking for a full-time

E-commerce Inside Sales Representative(36 hours)

The Position
You will play a pivotal role within the e-commerce department, supporting the Key Account Manager for e-commerce and the Digital Product Manager in selling our titles in all formats to our partners. In addition, you’ll coordinate with various departments—such as Editorial, Rights, and Production—to ensure accurate product information, thereby improving online discoverability and conversion rates. You’ll work closely with our partners to ensure the optimal presentation and availability of our titles. All of this is aimed at boosting sales of our titles through our e-commerce partners.

Who are you?
You’re able to handle stress, a team player, and have a positive attitude. You’re a friendly, service-oriented sales representative who is eager to contribute to the continued growth of sales of our (digital) titles through the e-commerce channel. We’re looking for a true team player who looks ahead, contributes ideas, and is solution-oriented.

You will also have access to:

  • MBO+ level of thinking and working, and a completed degree in a business-related field.
  • At least three years of experience in a commercial role, preferably in e-commerce.
  • A commercial organization—and you’re proactive, independent, creative, and results-oriented.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Dutch and English.

What do we offer you?
Passion is a hallmark of all colleagues at Meulenhoff Boekerij. And you can feel that in our informal yet business-oriented work environment. There is room for initiative, to put your own spin on what you do, to enjoy your work, and to make a contribution to the organization. Our core values are: entrepreneurship, collaboration, quality, inclusion, creativity, and continuity.

In addition to this inspiring work environment and challenging role, we offer you:

  • Salary in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for the publishing industry, Scale VI (from €2,302.63 to €3,171.27 gross per month on a full-time basis); starting salary depends on experience, education, and age
  • A flexible package of employee benefits, including a personalized flex budget that allows you, among other things, to save up for additional time off or have your (vacation) pay paid out at a time of your choosing.
  • A fantastic view of Amsterdam from the 16th floor of the Mondrian Tower.
  • Great coworkers!
