We are looking for a new colleague 

Public Relations and Education Officer, 20hours per week (2 days/3 days).

You are the face of our museum. As a Public and Education staff member, you’ll be in direct contact with our visitors and school groups. You’re engaged, curious, and proactive. You enjoy working with diverse groups and love interacting with visitors. You show genuine interest in the group you’re leading and encourage their participation during the tour. 

 What are you going to do?  

  • You lead tours and workshops for a diverse audience.
  • You will guide school groups from elementary and secondary schools. In some cases, this may also include groups from vocational and higher education institutions.
  • You will oversee public activities, events, performances, and concerts.       
  • You will assist, as requested, in developing guided tours, workshops, and educational programs.
  • You will participate in team meetings and staff meetings (both online and in person).

What do you bring to the table? 

  • You have an open attitude and are willing to help visitors.
  • You have experience working with diverse audiences.
  • You enjoy leading workshops and interactive tours. 
  • You're a creative person.
  • Experience working with school groups is a plus.
  • An interest in theater (and theater-based activities) and language/poetry is a plus. 
  • You can remain calm in your demeanor and communication, even as the hustle and bustle and tension increase. 
  • You have knowledge of and an interest in history in general, and you are willing to delve deeper into the subject. 
  • You convey (historical) knowledge clearly and vividly.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team.
  • You are flexible and available to work, including on weekends and holidays.
  • You speak Dutch and English. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • You have a first aid certification or are willing to obtain one.

  • Salary in accordance with the Museum Collective Labor Agreement, pay scale 7, ranging from a minimum of €3,015 to a maximum of €3,747 gross per month (based on a 36-hour workweek). The starting salary will be determined based on education and experience.
  • Travel allowance of €0.21 per kilometer, regardless of the mode of transportation. Second-class public transportation is fully reimbursed. Reimbursement for the OV-fiets bike-sharing service from Weesp Station to Muiden.
  • 8% vacation pay and a 3.4% year-end bonus.
  • Free admission to Muiderslot Castle.
