As a member of this team, your focus will be on the industry. In this role, you will ensure that the supply and demand of electrons and molecules are properly aligned at both the strategic and tactical levels.
A more sustainable Netherlands requires both the accelerated deployment of renewable energy infrastructure for electricity, CO2, and hydrogen, and the accelerated transition of Dutch industry toward sustainability. This is one of the priorities for this cabinet term. Together with the team, you will ensure that the industry’s transition to sustainability is achieved on time. Are you ready for this impactful challenge?
By joining forces, removing bottlenecks, and organizing effectively, we can accelerate progress. That is why stakeholders within the industry, grid operators, government agencies, and energy producers have decided to jointly establish the National Program for the Sustainability of Industry (NPVI). The NPVI will take the lead in developing both the demand and supply sides for projects of national importance. You will work with colleagues from grid operators, industry, energy suppliers, provinces, municipalities, and, of course, with representatives from the national government, particularly the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK) and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (I&W). This diverse composition helps us better understand each other’s positions and interests, and ensures we maintain direct lines of communication with the broader stakeholder community. As a result, you will develop a broad and engaging professional network.
As a member of this team, your focus will be on the industrial sector. In this role, you will ensure that the supply and demand for electrons and molecules are effectively matched at both the strategic and tactical levels. You will be responsible for the Energy Strategy Clusters (CES) developed by the six industrial clusters. Having a clear understanding of the needs and sustainability pathways that the industry clusters wish to follow is essential to anticipate the realization of infrastructure through initiatives such as the MIEK. You will also work on establishing a data safehouse and ensuring effective guidance within the industry clusters regarding the sustainability agenda. The strength of NPVI lies in the fact that various stakeholders in the sustainability of industry and our energy system work together as one team. By taking the lead, we will take a major step toward a better climate and a sustainable industry in the coming years.
As a pioneer, you’ll maintain an overview, contribute ideas on how we’ll fulfill our coordinating role, and develop the tools we’ll use to do so. We’re looking for a candidate with knowledge of making industry more sustainable and the investments and infrastructure required to achieve that. You know how to foster and evaluate commitment through your dedication. From a broad perspective, you can translate your expertise into policy and infrastructure decisions.
You’ll have the opportunity to fully take ownership of your role, and your initiative and results-oriented approach will be highly valued. Does this sound like something you’d be interested in? If so, we’d love to talk with you about how you can help accelerate the transition to a more sustainable Netherlands.
You know how to streamline processes, think creatively, and work effectively in a project-based environment—all while keeping the big picture in mind. You get a real boost from bringing structure to things, just as you do from achieving results. You have relevant experience in the worlds of industry, research, or government. You easily build connections, know how to gather knowledge and expertise around you, can get people on board with your ideas, and enjoy developing yourself within this unique program team. You have knowledge of technology and economic decisions, and you’re skilled at working in a process-oriented and systematic way. This allows you to guide the articulation of industry needs and effectively interpret the insights that emerge from them. You can evaluate industry project proposals on their merits and translate them into implications for policy decisions. You value collaboration and enjoy pioneering new approaches. You view the fact that this serves a social purpose as a welcome bonus.
In addition to your salary, you will receive an Individual Choice Budget (ICB). The ICB consists of money (16.37% of your gross annual salary) and time. With the ICB, you can make choices that suit you and customize part of your employment benefits. For example, you can choose to have a portion of your monthly income paid out whenever you wish. You can also convert this budget into leave and vice versa, or spend it on tax-friendly purposes. The Dutch government is strongly committed to personal growth and career development and offers numerous opportunities for this. Secondary employment conditions include various study facilities, company fitness programs, full reimbursement of your public transportation costs for commuting, and partially paid parental leave.
