More about this organization
A large wind ensemble comprising dozens of musicians performs together on stage under atmospheric blue and green lighting.

The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble (NBE) is a group of top musicians who come together about eighty times a year to perform unique programs both in the Netherlands and abroad. The NBE thinks outside the box, is always on the lookout for intriguing collaborations with musicians from other cultures, and blends these elements into surprising performances that stimulate the senses and spark the imagination.

The NBE places a high priority on talent development and education and takes its role as an inspiration and mentor to young talent very seriously. The NBE’s talent development program is a leader in its field, ranging from introducing young people to music to coaching top young talent. At its core is the act of making music oneself, as a composer and/or performer.

We are currently looking for a

Talent Development & Education Manager (0.8 FTE) (m/f/x)

What will you be doing?

As Talent Development & Education Manager, you are responsible for all projects organized by the NBE in the area of talent development and education.

You are the driving force behind the annual composition competition, the various youth wind ensembles established by the NBE, and other educational projects with and for children and young people—some of whom may not have a musical background. You organize, produce, and coordinate these projects and serve as the point of contact for participants, coaches, musicians, parents, arrangers, and teachers. You listen carefully and make adjustments where necessary. You maintain contacts and establish partnerships with other organizations and stakeholders in the (educational) field. In addition, you initiate new projects and, in close consultation with NBE and jongNBE musicians and the management, chart the course for the future.

Profile:

  • You must have at least a college-level education or equivalent.
  • You have experience in talent development and education, knowledge of music, and a network within the (classical) music sector.
  • You enjoy working with children and young people.
  • You feel at home in a small team and are used to taking on a lot of responsibility.
  • You are proactive, creative, self-reliant, able to handle stress, and flexible
  • You have strong social and communication skills and can quickly adapt to different situations.
  • You are willing to work evenings and weekends. The NBE office is located in Amsterdam, but you will also regularly travel to other locations throughout the country for projects.

We offer:

A varied role at a dynamic, inspiring, and creative company with passionate colleagues in a small, close-knit team. The salary is based on experience and is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Music Ensembles, Scale VI.

We hope to receive responses from people of various backgrounds and age groups so that we can ensure a good mix of diversity not only on stage but also within the supporting organization.

Please send your written application (including your resume) by email to info@nbe.nl, addressed to Elena van Slogteren.

Would you like more information? Please call or email Elena van Slogteren: tel. 020-6237806 or info@nbe.nl.
