The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) is currently seeking a candidate for its Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industries:
Management Assistant (0.8–1.0 FTE)

What will you be doing?
As a management assistant, you will serve as the right-hand person to our executive team and will primarily ensure that all secretarial and organizational tasks are handled efficiently. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for the executive team’s internal and external contacts.
You will handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and be responsible for managing phone calls, emails, and the schedule. This involves complex schedule management, with a particular focus on coordination meetings with various parties. The ability to maintain an overview, prioritize tasks, and work systematically is essential for this role.
The management assistants to the dean and the director of operations jointly manage the administrative office. You will generally cover for each other’s duties. A high degree of teamwork is required.
You are responsible for independently organizing and preparing meetings and gatherings. You also monitor the progress of decisions made. This includes assigning action items, tracking deadlines, and gathering all the information and documents needed for the meetings. Booking travel and reserving meeting rooms are also part of your responsibilities. In short: you ensure that work processes run smoothly from start to finish!
What are you bringing?
For this important position, we are seeking a strong, enthusiastic, and service-oriented individual with a college-level education and mindset, as well as a healthy sense of humor. You have several years of relevant work experience at the management level and excellent written and spoken proficiency in Dutch and English. You also possess strong verbal communication skills and are adept at setting priorities. Stress resilience, a flexible work ethic, good interpersonal skills, and a sense of responsibility are key qualities. In addition, you have an affinity for or experience in an educational setting, extensive experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint environment, etc.), and quickly feel at home with various IT systems.
The faculty secretariat consists of personal assistants to the dean and the director of operations, as well as the junior and senior faculty secretaries and support staff for the faculty council. It is important that you are able and willing to take over each other’s duties in general terms. This requires a high degree of collegiality. Cooperation is essential in this regard.

The Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industries is one of the seven faculties at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The faculty offers associate degree, bachelor’s, and master’s programs to approximately 10,500 students. Research is conducted by eight research groups and two Centers of Expertise within the Knowledge Center. The faculty employs approximately 1,000 people (650 FTE).
The faculty management team is supported and advised by the administrative staff, which consists of the heads of the Human Resources, Information Management, Education & Research, Finance, Planning & Control, Communications, and Housing departments, as well as the Education Office.
