The Concertgebouw is looking for a:
Junior Visual Editor & Content Creator (F/M/X)
for 38 hours per week (full-time)
As a Junior Visual Editor & Content Creator at the Concertgebouw, you’ll be working at one of the world’s most beautiful concert halls, a place where there’s something new to experience every day. With your eye for visuals, photography, and video, you’ll show the outside world everything the Concertgebouw has to offer. You’ll do this primarily through the website and social media, but you’ll also contribute to print programs, brochures, and posters.
About Het Concertgebouw
The Royal Concertgebouw is considered one of the world’s leading concert halls thanks to its unparalleled acoustics and its diverse, high-quality programming. Our mission is to connect and enrich as many people as possible through a sublime musical experience.
Our program includes classical, pop, hip-hop, jazz, children’s concerts, and film music. Each year, we host more than 900 events, attracting over 730,000 visitors. With our passionate and close-knit team, we strive to provide the very best experience for visitors, musicians, and staff.
Who are you?
No two people are alike. The Concertgebouw strives to be an organization where everyone feels welcome and safe—a place where employees can be themselves and are given the freedom and recognition they need to contribute to our mission in their own way.
What will you be doing?
As a Visual Editor & Content Creator, you’ll be responsible for all visual content (primarily photos and videos) at the Concertgebouw. You’ll select which photos to use when presenting a concert on the website, or which video to feature on our homepage, for example. You’ll decide which photographer to invite for each concert. You’ll also assist the Social Media Manager in producing videos, edit short clips yourself, design ads, and create Instagram Stories, for example. Ultimately, you’ll ensure that all this visual content is stored in an organized manner in our image database, so that everything can be easily retrieved later. If colleagues have questions about photos or videos, you’re the person to ask.
What does your team look like?
You will be part of the Content Team at the Concertgebouw. Among other things, this team is responsible for all text and images on the website, all posts on social media channels, video productions, and the creation of print materials such as the series brochure and our monthly magazine Preludium. Within the team, you will work closely with the Social Media Manager and the web editor. You’ll also collaborate extensively with the Marketing department, for example, on designing concert advertisements for social media. The team also consists of two editors and a designer/DTP specialist.
