WWF Netherlands (WWF NL) is a professional and dynamic organization with an informal work environment based in Zeist, the Netherlands. The working language is English.

The organization consists of the following departments: Conservation, Engagement, Organization & Talent Development, and Finance & Operations. The Finance & Operations department is responsible for the day-to-day operations of WWF NL and comprises Finance, IT, and Legal & Compliance.

The Finance Unit is responsible for the organization’s planning and control cycle, external reporting, financial, HR, and payroll administration, as well as contract management and financial monitoring of WWF’s global conservation projects.

To strengthen our Finance Unit, we are looking for a HR and Payroll Administrator (junior/mid-level) for 24 or 32 hours per week. 

As an HR and Payroll Administrator (junior/mid-level), you will work alongside the current senior HR and Payroll Administrator to implement the annual plan developed by the Head of Finance. You will be jointly responsible for managing our HR and payroll administration. You will advise colleagues on matters such as salaries, social insurance, and employment conditions. You will have frequent contact with employees and the HR team within the Organization & Talent Development department.


What are you going to do?

  • Together with your Finance and HR colleagues, you’ll ensure that payroll administration runs like clockwork. You’ll serve as a go-to resource for your immediate colleagues and make sure that the administrative processes run smoothly;
  • Checks and updates individual and collective data;
  • Submitting reports of changes to the relevant authorities regarding social security and employee insurance, etc.;
  • Drafts letters of employment and termination and requests certificates of good conduct;
  • You will serve as backup for the senior HR and payroll administrator (whose responsibilities include handling monthly payroll, processing payroll data, managing year-end tasks, and preparing for the close of our fiscal year);
  • You serve as the go-to person for our employees regarding HR-related questions about our terms of employment and ensure that inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately; 
  • You will work closely with the Organization & Talent Development (HR) department.

The HR and Payroll Administrator reports directly to Tanja Seydlitz, our Head of Finance.


Who are you?

  • You have strong analytical skills;
  • You’re very meticulous. You like to make sure everything is correct and runs smoothly. You enjoy analyzing things and getting to the bottom of them;
  • Knowledge of privacy laws; you handle confidential information and manage it appropriately;
  • You pick things up quickly and make them your own;
  • The computer is your right-hand man at work. You use specialized software to organize and store HR and payroll data efficiently. Therefore, you ideally have experience with Excel and the Visma Raet payroll software (YouForce) and can quickly master new software;
  • Experience in which you have gained in-depth knowledge of payroll administration and taxation;
  • Deadlines are no problem for you; you’re flexible;
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Dutch, both verbal and written, to effectively inform and advise the organization as needed.

  • A competitive salary based on the Dutch nonprofit sector; the minimum gross monthly salary for the position is €2,751.38, and the maximum monthly salary is €3,400.98;
  • Employees also receive a personal budget, consisting of 8% vacation pay and 2.08% flexible budget, and are entitled to 6 weeks of leave per year (based on a 40-hour workweek);
  • We encourage flexible work arrangements and the use of public transportation and bicycles for commuting and business travel. Commuting expenses are reimbursed based on second-class public transportation fares (NS Business Card).
