If so, we’re looking for you—our new colleague for the Digital Infrastructure department.
As a department, we are responsible for the Library’s IT. We are working to develop a modern infrastructure for library, research support, and heritage systems. As a department, our focus is on advising, managing, and innovating.
The department is part of the Central Library Services division. We are an organization undergoing a digital transformation. The UvA/HvA Library is actively developing Linked Data and exploring opportunities for the use of AI and other modern technologies.
The UvA/HvA Library has one of the largest print collections in the Netherlands and an extensive digital collection. In addition, the Allard Pierson manages a large number of unique heritage collections.
You will be responsible for the functional management of research support systems. You will support researchers at the UvA and HvA, policy and other staff at the faculties and administrative staff, as well as library colleagues in using the systems. You will do this by helping them get started with instructions and references, answering questions, and devising solutions to problems. You will constantly and actively seek ways to make things easier for users.
You will do this in collaboration with the Publishing (Open Access) and Research Data Management service teams. You will consult frequently with others both within the department and beyond, and you will work closely with expert colleagues.

We offer a position of 32 to 38 hours per week for a one-year term, with a two-month probationary period. If you prove to be a good fit, this will lead to a permanent position.
Depending on your relevant experience at the start of employment, your salary will range from€2,960 to €4,670 gross per month, based on a full 38-hour workweek. This does not include the 8% vacation pay and 8.3% year-end bonus. TheCollective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universitiesapplies.
