Freelance production assistant for documentaries and impact projects

One of the companies is the documentary production firm run by producer Hasse van Nunen and director-producer Renko Douze. In collaboration with visionary creators, we produce meaningful and artistically compelling documentaries and television programs. We also strongly believe that film can make a significant impact on society. And that’s exactly what we’re committed to. Through outreach campaigns and impact initiatives, we ensure that our documentaries spark social debate and drive change.

Who are we looking for? We are looking for an enthusiastic production assistant to help with the production of our films and impact campaigns, starting in mid-January 2023 (starting in February is also possible). We’re looking for someone who enjoys performing production tasks such as planning, managing budgets, preparing for shoot days, scheduling meetings, and much more. It’s important that you’re comfortable adapting frequently to new situations (after all, we make documentaries). In addition, we’re looking for someone who works meticulously and gets along well with all kinds of people. Experience with film and budgeting is a plus. This role requires some flexibility; the work will take up about 16 hours a week, but your schedule will vary each week. That means, however, that you can also arrange your hours flexibly around other work. Finally, the job requires independence; you’ll work in a small team, but you’ll carry out a large portion of your work independently.

What do we do? We work on multiple productions at the same time. From series to one-offs, from documentaries for adults to those for children. Documentaries and impact campaigns. All projects are at different stages: development, production, distribution, etc. You can find an overview of our projects here.

What do we offer? You’ll be working in a team with two (impact) producers and an executive producer. Our office is located in Amsterdam (and Utrecht), but if you prefer to work partly from home, that is also possible. We are initially offering this position for a period of 6 months, with an option to extend. Your compensation will be determined in consultation, based on experience.
