Are you an experienced direct marketer looking to apply your skills in a new role that offers plenty of room for creativity and initiative?

The stunning museum houses managed by Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten welcome a large number of visitors each year. Their goal is to build lasting relationships with these visitors and others, which is why they are seeking a results-oriented FUNDRAISER FOR THE PRIVATE MARKET (24–28 hours).

Hendrick de Keyser Monuments is the leading national charity dedicated to the preservation and management of historically significant homes and their interiors. The collection, comprising 440 residential properties built between 1495 and 1980 and located throughout the Netherlands, is unique. The craftsmanship, architecture, and interiors are often of exceptional quality. Each building features distinctive details on the exterior and/or interior. Approximately 35 properties are open to the public as museum homes, vacation homes, or unique venues for events. Once acquired, properties remain in the organization’s possession forever. As a result, they play a vital role in heritage management spanning the past, present, and future.

Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten is supported by private individuals, endowment funds, government agencies, and businesses. You will join the Partners & Supporters team, which is responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with these supporters and increasing revenue from them. They are a small, enthusiastic team looking for an experienced third colleague to strengthen the team. In the coming years, they aim to significantly expand their membership and donor base, which is why they are seeking a private fundraiser to help us achieve this goal.

What will you be doing?

Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten attracts large numbers of visitors to its museum houses throughout the country. Converting these visitors is a key priority, and there is plenty of room for you to bring your own ideas to the table. A new CRM system was implemented in early 2023, but it’s up to you to design the customer journeys and set up campaigns. Using data, you’ll develop targeted propositions to recruit new members. There are many opportunities where you’ll have the freedom to choose which campaigns to focus on to achieve results. In this role, you will work closely with the marketer from the Communications team to develop a public campaign.

  • You will actively focus on recruiting individual members and donors;
  • You know how to retain existing members and upgrade their membership with attractive offers in order to increase revenue;
  • You will work closely with the marketer to design and implement results-driven campaigns and select the appropriate online channels for these campaigns;
  • You contribute to the team’s success by staying on top of the annual plan. You analyze and evaluate your actions and continuously monitor results.

What does Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten offer?

  • A role that offers plenty of opportunity to be a pioneer, to seize opportunities, and to “take ownership of the entire process”;
  • A cozy workspace at the Bartolotti building on Herengracht in Amsterdam;
  • Working from home is an option, and you’ll also have complete freedom to organize your workweek however you like;
  • A total of over 80 friendly, knowledgeable colleagues;
  • You will be offered a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal;
  • A salary in pay grade G under the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Architectural Firms. This amounts to a gross monthly salary between €2,975 and €3,818, based on a 40-hour workweek;
  • A non-contributory pension plan.

What do you bring to the table?

  • You have a college-level education and at least two years of relevant work experience;
  • You have experience with and knowledge of CRM systems;
  • You are analytical, results-oriented, and enjoy working in a data-driven way;
  • You have a keen business sense; in other words, you focus on opportunities with the greatest potential;
  • You’re not afraid to take risks (it’s okay to make mistakes!) and you’re a real go-getter;
  • You are able to turn plans into practical actions to achieve results;
  • Experience with (online) campaigns or managing external agencies is a plus;
  • You ensure that your results are measurable and clearly presented in reports;
  • You are an independent worker and enjoy taking the initiative.

Experience with or a specific interest in cultural heritage is therefore not required. Nor is experience in the nonprofit sector necessary. However, a fresh and “business-minded” perspective, a can-do attitude, combined with experience in designing (marketing) journeys, conducting analyses, and working with CRM systems are definitely required.
