More about this organization
A smiling man wearing glasses is sitting at a desk in a modern office, with plants in the background and the NTR logo.

NTR is the broadcaster behind acclaimed shows such as *Het Klokhuis*, *Andere Tijden*, and *Kunststof*. In the fields of culture, information, education, and science, we offer content for all audiences, with programs and platforms that inspire and lead to new insights and personal growth.

To strengthen the online team of our Science editorial department, we are seeking an Online Coordinator/Editor (full-time or freelance) to start on October 1, 2024 (24 hours per week in 2025, subject to agreement).

The online editorial team at Wetenschap creates accessible science videos for our Instagram account, which has over 50,000 followers, and for a successful TikTok channel. On YouTube, the editorial team produces longer-form content. The latest science news, background stories, and the stories behind the science—it all appears on our channels. The editorial team also posts videos to accompany the broadcasts of the full-length program Focus, as well as our radio and podcast episodes.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Take the lead in bringing all of NTR Science’s channels online, particularly on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram;
  • Brainstorming with the editorial team on how to adapt videos for different platforms;
  • Coordinate the output of the online editors;
  • Final editing of the online productions;
  • Managing a team of 4 employees;
  • Conduct weekly editorial meetings;
  • Evaluate online productions and take constructive follow-up action;
  • Working with the production team, editorial staff, and executive editors, you’ll produce engaging, up-to-date science stories for our YouTube channel and for NPO Start.

This is you:

  • An expert in online strategies who knows what works and what doesn't and keeps a close eye on industry trends;
  • Able to translate complex information into engaging content;
  • Full of original ideas, analytically strong, and well-informed about current events;
  • Inspiring and persuasive; you’re good at explaining why certain decisions are made;
  • You have a flexible mindset, strong communication skills, and good social skills, which allow you to work comfortably as part of a team;
  • Being available to work at the editorial office at the Media Park in Hilversum on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays is a plus. Working from home is possible on an occasional basis, subject to agreement.

Here's what we offer:

A one-year contract (full-time or freelance), with the possibility of renewal and an increase in hours to 24 hours per week in 2025. Depending on knowledge and experience, this position is compensated within salary grade H (€3,651.03 – €5,742.43) of the broadcasting collective bargaining agreement.

You can also expect to join a motivated and creative team made up of ambitious and enthusiastic science journalism professionals.

We value ambition and are happy to support your professional growth. Do you want to advance in your career, try something different, or learn something new? NTR offers plenty of opportunities for this within the company, but thanks to our training budgets and your personal career budget (€1,000 every 5 years), we believe that professional development should extend beyond the workplace as well.

NTR offers a 6% December bonus, 8% vacation pay, a travel allowance, over 5 weeks of vacation per year, annual salary increases, a group pension plan, and a monthly contribution toward your health insurance.

Climate-conscious working is a top priority at NTR. Together with colleagues from other public broadcasters, we participate in the ALBERT sustainability program, which helps us create the conditions needed to strive for a minimal carbon footprint in everything we produce.

Finally, NTR strives to foster an inclusive organizational culture that reflects the diversity of our society. An environment where everyone feels at home and connected contributes to job satisfaction and provides ample room for inspiration and creativity. We believe in the unique value of every individual, which is why our job openings are open to everyone.
