As the coordinator of the youth community, you will work with a group of vocational high school students that changes every year. These young people have all participated in the Voices of Tolerance citizenship program. In this program, we engage with students on important topics such as freedom, diversity, and tolerance. Are young people able and willing to be themselves in our society?
You play a key role in engaging students with the community and can often be found at the schools where we work. There, you scout for, recruit, and encourage them to participate. Together with the group, you then develop an annual program of activities, always prioritizing the students’ input. You ensure their voices are heard: during meetings, as ambassadors at schools, and while creating their own art projects. For the young people, you are the point of contact, mentor, and coach.
You will be working in the education department alongside four other colleagues. You will work closely with the senior educator who organizes Voices of Tolerance.
We believe in the power of diversity to achieve better results together for our unique museum. Talent is the foundation, and diversity is the driving force. That is why we invite candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.
The Museum Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder consists of two buildings: the17th-century historic building, which features a hidden house church in the attic, and a new entrance building. The museum’s new direction focuses on the social relevance of heritage, and we collaborate with various partners in the city to develop our programming and activities. Each year, we welcome approximately 100,000 visitors, as well as many schoolchildren and students who are delighted by this unique museum.
Working at Museum Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder means working in an inspiring setting in the heart of downtown Amsterdam. An environment where your contribution is valued!
