The Dutch Lithography Museum is undergoing a transformation and evolving into an art and technology museum that focuses on the contemporary relevance of lithography to the world: from the graphic arts to the high-tech microchip industry. A key aspect of this is the museum’s artistic role and its collaboration with artists. In the coming years, the museum aims to develop into a national and international art and residency center. To take further steps in this transition, we are seeking a:
COLLABORATIVE ART PRINTER
LITHOGRAPHY APPRENTICE/JUNIOR
As a Collaborative Art Printer, you’ll be working in a small, energetic, and friendly team. The person we’re looking for will work closely with our master lithographer, Gertjan Forrer, and learn the craft from him in a master-apprentice setting. In the museum’s studios, you will collaborate with artists to create new lithographic works and editions. You will report to the director and work closely with the curator and the operations manager. You will also work with the museum’s large group of volunteers and the museum studio.
A stimulating and dynamic work environment with a positive team atmosphere and the opportunity to help build a new museum and artist residency. Salary is based on experience and education. We follow the salary scales of the museum collective bargaining agreement and offer a pension plan. To start, we offer a one-year contract for 24 hours per week, with the goal of establishing a long-term relationship.
