What will you be doing?

As a cluster support specialist, you will spend most of your workday at fire stations. There, you will interact with the staff and collaborate with various departments, which means you will also work with different systems. That is why it is important that you are sociable and able to master these systems.

The questions you can expect range from HR-related and financial matters to practical questions about work. You are the link that connects the right colleagues from different departments. In addition to supporting staffing, you will also assist the cluster and/or barracks manager(s) in managing the schedule, organizing meetings and gatherings, and preparing minutes and action items. Monitoring processes is part of your daily responsibilities.

You will be part of the team of cluster support staff and advisors, who work together to support the managers. You will be in frequent contact and hold regular meetings.

As a cluster support specialist with the Fire Department, you have a multifaceted and responsible role. To perform this role effectively and ensure that the work proceeds as efficiently and smoothly as possible, certain competencies are essential.

  • MBO+ level of work and thinking
  • Demonstrable work experience in secretarial and administrative support
  • Familiarity with systems such as AFAS, InPlanning, and Office 365.

Here's what you'll get from us

At the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region, you can work with a great team where you’ll have opportunities to grow in your role.

  • Salary in pay grade 7, with a maximum of €3,818 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek.
  • A 27-hour-per-week position. You will work three 9-hour shifts per day
  • A flexible spending allowance equal to 18.63% of your gross annual salary. This includes your year-end bonus and vacation pay.
  • 187.2 hours of leave based on a 36-hour workweek, including 43.2 hours of overtime.
  • A one-year appointment, with the possibility of a permanent position.
  • A generous pension plan through ABP, two-thirds of which is paid by us.
  • The option to work remotely with a work-from-home allowance of €3 per day.
  • Monthly health insurance premium.
  • Free use of all sports facilities at the fire stations.

  • The opportunity to take on an on-call position in addition to your regular job.

In the Fire and Rescue Services sector, we ensure that we are on standby 24/7 to respond to incidents. We organize drills, develop plans, establish contacts with businesses and other government agencies, and advise mayors. No two days are the same, but every day is important.
