Would you like to work for an organization that’s constantly evolving, where employees are passionate about ensuring safety in the Amsterdam-Amstelland region? Do you get a kick out of planning and organizing? Are you a natural team player who thrives on taking the pressure off others? Then come work with us as a cluster support specialist.
As a cluster support specialist, you will spend most of your workday at fire stations. There, you will interact with the staff and collaborate with various departments, which means you will also work with different systems. That is why it is important that you are sociable and able to master these systems.
The questions you can expect range from HR-related and financial matters to practical questions about work. You are the link that connects the right colleagues from different departments. In addition to supporting staffing, you will also assist the cluster and/or barracks manager(s) in managing the schedule, organizing meetings and gatherings, and preparing minutes and action items. Monitoring processes is part of your daily responsibilities.
You will be part of the team of cluster support staff and advisors, who work together to support the managers. You will be in frequent contact and hold regular meetings.
As a cluster support specialist with the Fire Department, you have a multifaceted and responsible role. To perform this role effectively and ensure that the work proceeds as efficiently and smoothly as possible, certain competencies are essential.
At the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region, you can work with a great team where you’ll have opportunities to grow in your role.
When you work at the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region, you’re right at the heart of the community. You’re involved in major societal events. Responding to COVID-19, assisting displaced persons from Ukraine, major fires, power outages, and events—these are just a few examples of our daily work.
In the Fire and Rescue Services sector, we ensure that we are on standby 24/7 to respond to incidents. We organize drills, develop plans, establish contacts with businesses and other government agencies, and advise mayors. No two days are the same, but every day is important.
