Would you like to work in a results-oriented and inspiring environment to help build a digital economy that contributes to our overall prosperity? Do you have an eye for new digital developments and are you able to anticipate them in a timely and effective manner? Do you want to work toward an entrepreneurial, resilient, and sustainable digital economy in Europe and beyond? And do you want to contribute to a globally connected, free, open, and secure internet? As coordinator of the Strategy and International cluster, you will play a prominent role in this.
In the Strategy and International cluster, dedicated colleagues work on strategy development within the Digital Economy at the national, European, and international levels. The Digital Economy Strategy provides clear frameworks and ambitious goals for 2030. Together with your team and colleagues, you’ll work to realize those ambitions, make adjustments where necessary, and respond to new opportunities and topics. Think of the rise of immersive technology, (generative) AI, and quantum technology. Or the increasing geopolitical dimension of digitalization and the internet. Or the “twin transition” of digitalization and sustainability. All these topics come with challenging issues that you’ll help solve.
The cluster also plays a coordinating role with regard to European and international digital policy. Influencing the European digital agenda and leveraging European digital funds, such as DIGITAL, play a key role in this. Colleagues in your cluster also represent the Netherlands in international organizations, such as the OECD, G20, UN, and ICANN. And we work on bilateral cooperation with European and non-EU countries.
As a coordinator, you play a key role in ensuring that all activities within the cluster run smoothly and contribute to the team’s continued development. You will also take on a number of cases within the cluster yourself. You will consult with your colleagues in the cluster to determine how to divide up daily tasks, keeping an eye on prioritization and workload. You also ensure effective knowledge building, sharing, and retention within the cluster. In addition, you play a key role in training and supporting new employees. When necessary, you serve as a sounding board for cases. Together with the management team member, you maintain an overview of the work and monitor the cluster’s strategy and planning.
Thanks to your strong analytical skills and ability to build connections, you are able to link topics and colleagues both within and outside the cluster. Together with the other cluster coordinators and the Management Team, you also establish connections between topics within the directorate and play a role in shaping its vision and strategy. You will also work closely with other directorates and ministries, the Permanent Representation in Brussels, the business community, knowledge institutions, and civil society organizations.
Would you like to join us as the Strategy and International Cluster Lead to help build a strong digital Netherlands in Europe and around the world?
In addition to your salary, you will receive an Individual Choice Budget (ICB). The ICB consists of money (16.37% of your gross annual salary) and time. With the ICB, you can make choices that suit you and customize part of your employment benefits. For example, you can choose to have a portion of your monthly income paid out whenever you wish. You can also convert this budget into leave and vice versa, or spend it on tax-friendly purposes. The Dutch government is strongly committed to personal growth and career development and offers numerous opportunities for this. Secondary employment conditions include various study facilities, company fitness programs, full reimbursement of your public transportation costs for commuting, and partially paid parental leave.
