Wakker Dier fights for a life of dignity for all animals in the livestock industry. Our vigilant actions and relentless commitment have made us both heard and feared within the food industry. That is why our campaigns are bringing about real change. For example, all factory-farmed chicken has disappeared from Dutch supermarkets.
But we won’t rest until all animals in the Dutch livestock industry are treated with respect. The track
In this role, you will conduct research and develop campaigns and initiatives focused on animals and the industry surrounding them. Your communications will shake people up and give a voice to the animals. You are a driving force with plenty of initiative, decisiveness, and an interest in mass communication and public relations.
What will you be doing?
- Make a difference in the lives of hundreds of millions of animals;
- Conceiving and implementing various projects, ranging from drafting reports to creating advertising campaigns;
- Contribute to the campaign strategy;
- Managing freelancers;
- Stay actively informed about developments in the field.

What do you bring to the table?
You are an activist through and through. You enjoy working proactively, in an organized and solution-oriented manner. You think flexibly, analytically, and innovatively. You want to use your skills to help animals.
You have a college degree, preferably in biology, animal welfare, or animal husbandry. You have at least three years of experience in a professional work environment. Experience with project management or advocacy is a plus. Are you confident and do you share our vision for animals, including in your own consumption habits? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
