We publish a wide range of genres, including literature, literary nonfiction, poetry, cookbooks, lifestyle, commercial fiction, and children’s books. Park Uitgevers is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic

Desktop Editor (32–36 hours)

Do you enjoy working with authors, colleagues, translators, and prepress specialists to create the best and most beautiful books? Then we’re looking for you!

What will you be doing?

• Preparing copy for production
• Coordinating communication between authors, translators, copyeditors, proofreaders, designers, typesetters, and colleagues
• Monitoring schedules
• Maintaining and entering data into the relevant computerized systems
• Overseeing the production of covers and, if necessary, visual materials
• For nonfiction: coordination of front- and back-matter (such as indexes, bibliographies, footnotes, etc.)  

What do we expect from you?

•  You have a college or university level of work and thinking
• You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in an editorial role
• You have an excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
• You have a good command of spoken and written English
• You have a keen eye for detail and design
• You are decisive, flexible, and have excellent interpersonal skills
