More about this organization
Visitors view works of art in a modern gallery featuring industrial architecture and white exhibition walls.

Artzaanstad is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to making art accessible to everyone. As an art lending service and gallery, we have been renting and selling art to businesses and private individuals throughout the Netherlands and beyond for 50 years. Artzaanstad works with local, national, and international artists. The foundation holds a renowned position within the Dutch art world. We are recognized and valued by the Zaan political community and hold a special place in the Zaan social sphere. Artzaanstad’s collection comprises more than 5,000 works representing all styles and techniques.

Since September 2017, Artzaanstad has been located on the Hembrug site in Zaandam, in a historic factory hall with an industrial vibe. The Hembrug site is a unique hub for art and culture in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. In the coming years, over a thousand homes will be built here, and this site will become the home of one of the world’s largest museums, the ZAMU (Zaandam Amsterdam Museum). At this cultural hotspot in Zaanstad, we face the challenge of achieving our goal of reaching a larger and broader audience and realizing financial growth.
