General Manager
The Royal Carré Theatre is the most beautiful theater in the Netherlands. The theater is known for its diverse program of national and international theater productions of the highest caliber. With every conceivable theater genre, from circus to cabaret and from pop concerts to opera, Carré offers a unique theatrical experience for everyone. For over 136 years, 400,000 visitors have made their way to the famous theater on the Amstel River each year to experience the magic of Carré. The operations team consists of managers, a scheduler, a catering coordinator, and an operations assistant. Together, you ensure that theater evenings are well prepared.
Carré is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to support the core team of three operations managers. During performances and events, you will be responsible for operations, leading the operational (catering) team and directly managing the theater supervisors, theater staff, and other operational staff. Together with the team, you will create a warm welcome and memorable experience for all visitors, helping to ensure an unforgettable evening. You are ultimately responsible for handling questions from visitors and taking action in the event of emergencies.
Requirements
- You are hospitable and enjoy interacting with visitors.
- You know how to lead and motivate a team, and this gives you energy.
- You can handle stressful situations, keep a cool head, and maintain a clear overview.
- You have at least 3 years of relevant (management) experience in a similar hospitality role.
- You speak and write Dutch and English.
- You live in or around Amsterdam.
What's on your resume?
You have extensive experience in this or a similar position. You have a vocational or higher vocational education level of work and thinking. In addition, you hold a certificate in social hygiene and emergency response, and you are familiar with occupational health and safety and HACCP laws and regulations.
What do we offer you?

- Salary between €3,365 and €4,807 (based on full-time employment); your final salary will depend on your experience.
- A contract with fixed hours, the number of which is to be determined (primarily in the evenings and on weekends).
