Counter Coordinator
The Amsterdam Resistance Museum is a vibrant museum thanks to the dedicated efforts of its 15 part-time paid staff members (approximately 10 full-time equivalents) and over 100 volunteers. In 2022, the museum underwent renovations and updated its permanent exhibition. After a six-month closure, the museum will reopen on December 1 and welcome many visitors once again. They will be greeted by well-trained volunteers working under the supervision of a reception coordinator.

Counter Coordinator
30.4 hours per week
The Bali Coordinator
- Manages the recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of a team of more than twenty volunteer front-desk staff, as well as a smaller team of volunteers who assist with catering duties.
- As a cooperative supervisor, ensures that all visitors are welcomed properly and steps in to help when necessary.
- Writes clear instructions for procedures related to alarm and cash register systems, etc.
- Coordinates the production of events in collaboration with the programmer.
- Handles venue rentals and maintains communication with customers regarding these matters.
- Handles purchasing and inventory management for catering.
- Has a college-level education and, preferably, experience with computerized point-of-sale systems.
- Is an excellent, flexible, and customer-friendly organizer who is able to motivate and guide everyone involved while taking each person’s strengths into account.
- Is willing to work on weekends and occasionally in the evenings.
- Has a good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
- Given the current composition of the team, we prefer applicants from non-Western backgrounds.
We are offering a position for 30.4 hours per week, with pay in accordance with the City of Amsterdam’s pay scale, level 8. Starting pay ranges from a minimum of €2,581 (level 8.0) to a maximum of €3,523 (level 8.9) for a full-time position of 38 hours per week. The appointment is for a period of one year, with the possibility of a permanent position thereafter.
