The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra|Netherlands Chamber Orchestra presents opera and concert productions at the highest artistic level. As the resident orchestra of the Dutch National Opera, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra|Netherlands Chamber Orchestra is internationally regarded as one of the finest opera orchestras. Lorenzo Viotti is chief conductor of the NedPhO and of the Dutch National Opera. Gordan Nikolić is the music director of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. The Royal Concertgebouw is the home venue for a varied concert program. The orchestra combines artistic excellence with accessibility in a program designed for a broad audience. Through an extensive program for education and talent development, the organization invests in the future of classical music. Each year, the orchestras reach approximately 190,000 visitors. The organization is based at the NedPhO-Koepel in Amsterdam East.
We are looking for a:
Assistant General Manager at
(36
hours per week)
You will support the Executive Director in the practical organization and substantive preparation of his work. This includes, among other things, managing his schedule, organizing meetings, and preparing minutes for the Management Team and the Supervisory Board. You will be substantively involved in the Executive Director’s work, which will allow you to enjoyably deepen your knowledge and insight.
You will advise on the handling and prioritization of incoming correspondence or requests and will also handle many of these yourself. You will plan and monitor the follow-up on actions, handle correspondence, edit texts, and manage the executive team’s contact database. You will independently handle various cases and be involved in special projects. You will lead the reception team (two staff members).

You are a highly experienced and enthusiastic
management support professional with a strong sense of responsibility, eager
to find ways to make a contribution. You are meticulous, proactive, and
naturally well-organized. With a structured and practical approach,
you maintain a clear overview for yourself and others. You are service-oriented and communicate
smoothly and effectively with colleagues and external contacts.
Experience and
Education
You have a bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant
work experience in a complex work environment. Your command of Dutch and
English is excellent. You make optimal use of office software (such as
Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Teams) and have a knack for setting up and
keeping a well-organized digital work environment up to date.
Last but not least: you’re open to the classical music that will soon be a part of your daily life!
Our offer
A temporary
employment contract for one year with the prospect of a permanent
position.
Salary is based on age and experience in pay scale 9 of the collective bargaining agreement Central Government: a minimum of €2,881.00 and a maximum of €4,070.00 gross per month for a full-time position of 36 hours per week. Also included are an 8% vacation allowance and a year-end bonus. We are members of the ABP Pension Fund and offer discounts on supplemental employee insurance plans.
