More about this organization
A group of nine young employees poses cheerfully in front of an office building, holding red balloons and a "Life Goals" banner.

Life Goals is looking for a Fundraising Advisor to help drive the organization’s growth. Do you have experience with fundraising and maintaining professional relationships? Are you socially engaged, creative, and ambitious when it comes to writing grant proposals? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Who are we?

Life Goals was founded in 2010 as a result of a partnership between the KNVB and the Salvation Army.

We launched the street soccer league for the homeless. We now organize community sports projects throughout the country and strive to inspire as many people in vulnerable situations as possible through sports. We conduct nationwide advocacy and develop projects for specific target groups, such as the homeless, at-risk youth, and, for example, asylum seekers. We do this based on the belief that sports are a wonderful way to build resilience and gain a new perspective.

Your role in a nutshell

As a fundraising consultant, you will be responsible for managing existing and new partnerships with national foundations and companies. You will serve as a key representative of Life Goals. You will act as a strategic point of contact for these organizations and ensure they align with our mission. You will manage all existing contacts and contracts and actively seek out new funding opportunities.

You will do this in close collaboration with the Public Affairs Advisor. Together, you will ensure that Life Goals is recognized and supported by all relevant ministries, funds, and companies. The Public Affairs Advisor focuses primarily on increasing our visibility among national government agencies and political circles. You will develop concrete project proposals, maintain relationships with funders, and write reports.

Employee Profile

For this position, we are looking for someone who understands what it takes to establish new partnerships with foundations and companies. We are seeking the following qualities:

• You are socially engaged and have a clear perspective on developments in the social sector;

• You have experience in fundraising and understand how Life Goals can add value;

• Based on your experience, you will be able to perform the role independently and help Life Goals grow;

• You know how to set and achieve clear goals;

• You are, or will become, the leading expert in the field of fundraising;

• You are aware of political and administrative interests;

• You get a boost of energy from establishing new partnerships;

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or a comparable level of work experience and analytical ability;

• You have at least 5 years of work experience.

What do we offer you?

– A pleasant, newly renovated workspace with a spacious garden in the heart of Utrecht.

– A small, informal, and flexible team that likes to make decisions quickly;

– A team that regularly organizes (sports-related) team-building activities followed by drinks;

– Plenty of room for your own input and creativity;

– Opportunities for training and professional development;

– Contract for 4 or 5 days a week;

– Salary based on the Sports Collective Bargaining Agreement, scale 10, ranging from €3,933 to €5,314

We take your experience, age, and level of education into account when determining your exact salary;

– 24 days of vacation, plus two weeks off for Christmas and New Year’s;

– Excellent benefits, including a 13th month’s salary, pension contributions, vacation pay, a training budget, travel allowance, and a phone allowance.
