For the past 10 years, CultuurSchakel has been working to foster a high-quality, diverse, inclusive, and vibrant arts and culture scene in The Hague, both in schools and in the community. To this end, we support schools, cultural institutions, and cultural organizations with advice and grants. You can also find information on all the cultural activities available in The Hague for your free time.
There are hundreds of cultural organizations in The Hague. These include theater, dance, and music groups, as well as cultural initiatives. CultuurSchakel supports all of these organizations in The Hague. We help people in The Hague find leisure activities in areas such as dance, music, media, visual arts, theater, and literature. We also provide information on what’s happening, where you can take classes, or where to attend performances.
We support education through guidance, advice, our network, and tailored programs. For example, all students have the opportunity to visit a theater or museum, or an artist can come to their classroom.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, we are looking for administrative support that occasionally involves some organizational tasks.
Do you have your affairs in order? Does having a clear overview make you happy? Do you enjoy supporting a team so you can deliver the best work together? Then keep reading!
As an administrative assistant, you’ll be based in the secretariat, but due to the specific tasks involved in this role, you’ll be working across the various departments of CultuurSchakel. A large part of your work will be for the cultural engagement team—a group of advisors who work together throughout the city to support arts and cultural initiatives and organizations. This diverse team (see also the website) could use some support. That’s where you come in.
As part of the Cultural Education team, your responsibilities will include serving as a help desk for the many cultural field trips that schools take with their students, and working with a colleague to manage the scheduling of those field trips. You will also work with the coaches to organize meetings for external stakeholders, for which you will send out invitations and manage registrations.
In this role, you will serve as an administrative assistant working across various areas of the organization. You will ensure the proper processing of grant applications for “Geld voor je Kunst,” keep the schedule for school visits organized, assist the heads of the Cultural Practice and Cultural Education departments with calendar management, draft minutes for meetings and networking events, book external venues, keep provider profiles on the website up to date, schedule appointments and send out invitations, follow up on them, and archive our records.
In short, with you on our teams, everything runs like a well-oiled machine.
Working at CultuurSchakel is enjoyable because there are so many great colleagues, and we can make a difference for the city and its institutions. The mix of office work and meetings keeps the job varied and interesting for me. (Soeshiel Sharma – Informal Networks Advisor)
