A packed concert hall with an audience on every level and an orchestra on stage in a classical building.

The Concertgebouw is looking for a:
Venue Rental Account Manager (F/M/X).
for 38 hours per week (full-time)

As an account manager at the Concertgebouw, you’ll work at one of the world’s most beautiful concert halls, in a place where there’s something new to experience every day. You play a key role in making concerts and events possible. Thanks to your knowledge and experience, and with the help of various software programs, you contribute to the planning and marketing of concerts and ensure that tickets for concerts can be sold.

About Het Concertgebouw

The Royal Concertgebouw is considered one of the world’s leading concert halls thanks to its unparalleled acoustics and its diverse, high-quality programming. Our mission is to connect and enrich as many people as possible through a sublime musical experience.

Our program includes classical, pop, hip-hop, jazz, children’s concerts, and film music. Each year, we host more than 900 events, attracting over 730,000 visitors. With our passionate and close-knit team, we strive to provide the very best experience for visitors, musicians, and staff.

Who are you?

  • You have knowledge and experience in organizing and/or preparing concerts and/or events (preferably at least two years).
  • You have strong organizational and planning skills, are proactive, and are a problem-solver.
  • You have a good understanding of logistics and processes, and you take pride in doing your work with attention to detail.
  • You enjoy working with others, both clients and colleagues, and when the situation calls for it, you’re willing to make tough decisions. You’re able to switch between different levels of detail as needed.
  • You are able to express yourself clearly in both Dutch and English. If you also have intercultural communication skills, we would welcome that.
  •  You love music and concerts, and you enjoy discovering new music

No two people are alike. The Concertgebouw strives to be an organization where everyone feels welcome and safe—a place where employees can be themselves and are given the freedom and recognition they need to contribute to our mission in their own way.

What will you be doing?

You will serve as the point of contact for organizations wishing to rent venues within the Concertgebouw to host concerts or organize events (organizers). You will advise organizers on the feasibility of their plans and draft the contracts. You will ensure that concerts are available for sale and that everyone within the Concertgebouw has access to all information regarding the concerts. You are the point of contact for organizers regarding the marketing of their concerts, such as the concert description on the website, including their concert in newsletters, and marketing campaigns. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for scheduling the various venues. With your enthusiasm and attention to detail, you will build long-term relationships with organizers so that they continue to organize concerts and events, and you will contribute to the Concertgebouw’s ambition to offer our visitors a diverse, high-quality program.

Your main duties and responsibilities are:

  • You will be responsible for the production planning of concerts and events for a number of organizers: you will assess the feasibility of plans (in terms of organization, content, and finances) and document the agreements reached for the operational departments;
  • You prepare cost estimates and contracts;
  • You will ensure optimal support for the organizers and, as a result, maintain a good relationship with them;
  • You will manage the scheduling for the building and its various spaces;
  • You will enter all concert data into the Tix ticketing system and the iConcert scheduling system;
  • You advise tenants on marketing campaigns, rankings, and pricing.

What does your team look like?

You will be part of the Venue Rental Department, a dedicated and vital team of nine colleagues. The team is responsible for renting out and scheduling the various venues and serves as the point of contact for organizers in the preparation of concerts and events. The Venue Rental Department is part of the Production, Venue Rental, and Events Department.

What do we offer?

  • A salary between €2,169 and €3,014 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours per week)
  • An 80% contract (30.4 hours) is a possibility.
  • You’ll be taking on a versatile, independent role in a challenging industry.
  • You can attend concerts in what is (in our humble opinion) the most beautiful concert hall in the Netherlands.
  • You can take training courses to keep your knowledge up to date and further your professional development.
  • You can work partly from home if you want to.
  • Free ticket program for employees.
  • A bicycle plan for up to €749, including VAT.
  • You are accruing pension benefits.
  • And last but not least: you’ll be part of a dedicated, enthusiastic, and friendly team with a relaxed work environment.
