Project Manager for Sustainable Industry
A more sustainable Netherlands requires both the accelerated development of renewable energy infrastructure for electricity, CO2, and hydrogen, and the accelerated transition of Dutch industry toward sustainability. This is one of the priorities for this cabinet term. Together with the team, you will deliver concrete projects on time. Ready for this impactful challenge?
By joining forces, removing bottlenecks, and organizing efforts effectively, we can accelerate progress. That is why stakeholders within the industry, grid operators, government agencies, and energy producers have decided to jointly establish the National Program for the Sustainability of Industry (NPVI). The NPVI will take the lead in developing both the demand and supply sides for projects of national importance.
You will work with colleagues from grid operators, industry, local and regional governments, and, of course, federal government officials, particularly those from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. You will be at the heart of the energy transition and will therefore have frequent contact with stakeholders in the six industrial clusters. This means you will often travel throughout the region to hear firsthand accounts and act on them.
The Acceleration Team oversees the progress of sustainable infrastructure projects, including those from the Multi-Year Program for Infrastructure, Energy, and Climate (MIEK), as well as projects by large companies aimed at making their industrial processes more sustainable. The planning for these initiatives takes place at the level of industrial clusters. As a go-getter, you maintain an overview, help project owners resolve bottlenecks, and accelerate progress wherever possible. This requires you to be creative and flexible in proposing solutions and to have the perseverance to bring them to fruition. To this end, you will work closely with a complex network consisting of industry clusters, companies, local and regional governments, policymakers, and network operators.
You’ll have the opportunity to fully take ownership of your role, and your initiative and results-oriented approach will be highly valued. Does this sound like something you’d be interested in? If so, we’d love to talk with you about how you can help accelerate the transition to a more sustainable Netherlands.
You are a decisive professional who is deeply familiar with the ins and outs of MIEK projects. You are able to work on a project basis within an administrative environment, know how to streamline processes, and think in terms of creative solutions. You can also apply this to the political and administrative reality, all while maintaining a comprehensive overview. You get energy from creating structure, just as you do from achieving results. You easily build connections, know how to gather knowledge and expertise around you, can get people on board with your ideas, and enjoy developing yourself within this unique team. Collaboration is important to you, and you enjoy being a pioneer.
What are we asking for?
In addition to your salary, you will receive an Individual Choice Budget (ICB). The ICB consists of money (16.37% of your gross annual salary) and time. With the ICB, you can make choices that suit you and customize part of your employment benefits. For example, you can choose to have a portion of your monthly income paid out whenever you wish. You can also convert this budget into leave and vice versa, or spend it on tax-friendly purposes. The Dutch government is strongly committed to personal growth and career development and offers numerous opportunities for this. Secondary employment conditions include various study facilities, company fitness programs, full reimbursement of your public transportation costs for commuting, and partially paid parental leave.
