The purpose of the programmes and strategic partnerships team is to develop and maintain programme strategies, modalities and managing Strategic Partnerships for our programme pillars and cross-cutting themes and empower, enable and support country offices in the transformation towards project design and implementation. For the next phase of our strategic agenda we are recruiting a strategic and driven Manager Programmes & Strategic Partnerships.
Position
As our manager programmes & strategic partnerships, you are responsible for strategic and operational leadership and the (further) development and operationalization of existing and new programmes. You are part of the international management team (IMT), work across functional teams to contribute to Edukans overall effectiveness and lead a programme team of 10 employees. You are responsible for the day-to-day management and further professionalisation of your team.
Responsibilities
1. Programme strategy & Design
- Shaping and design our international programme strategy leading to education system strengthening, scaling-up, resulting in long term impact.
- Provide insights and advice to support in driving, shaping and amplifying our work on Basic Education, Skills for Work and Life, Education in Emergencies and Exchange programmes.
- Support the integration and shaping of our cross cutting themes into our programme strategies, modalities and strategic partnerships.
- Lead initiatives to evaluate, refine and innovate our programmes to ensure our work is directly aligned to our new strategy.
- Participate fully in the annual budget process, leading the program budgeting process, and provide ongoing oversight and management of program budgets.
2. Programs Management & Oversight
- Provide overall strategic and technical leadership in setting boundaries, frameworks and guidelines of Edukans Programmes and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) Framework.
- Review and provide guidance and support on the implementation and the translation of programmes into project portfolios at country level.
- Together with the M&E Lead, design & implement systems and processes for evaluating the impact and effectiveness of our programmes, and set the learning agenda of the organization.
- Facilitate and stimulate project-based working in close collaboration with our country offices, funding- and programmes teams.
3. Strategic Partnerships
- Design of the Strategic Partner strategy in line with shift the power principles.
- Coordinate, facilitate and building long-term Strategic Partnerships for joint impact on our pillars.
- Proactively stay well informed, networked and abreast with key trends and players in the sector.
- Engage with donors as required – providing programme updates and ensuring continuous & consistent building of trust based relationships.
- Represent Edukans at different platforms, stakeholders and partners both in the Netherlands as well as at Global level.
4. People management
- Provide high quality inspiring and empowering leadership and support a team of professionals that focus on Programme Development and Management, PMEL, partnership and IF coordination.
- Enable your team in their journey of realizing the Edukans strategic multiple year ambitions through guidance, annual plans, programme strategies and international collaboration.
- Fostering a culture of learning and accountability.
Profile of the candidate
- A relevant Bachelor/Master’s degree and solid work experience in an international organization.
- Strong strategic and operational leadership skills to co-ordinate the programme team to deliver programmatic strategic objectives.
- Proven capacity on partnership management.
- Demonstrates managerial and coaching skills to lead a team of professionals.
- Ability to build of solid, credible relationships with local and international local NGOs, movements and networks, government associations, business leaders and other relevant stakeholders.
- Excellent (intercultural) communication skills, in written and verbal Dutch and English.
- Ability to adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through.
