About KNCV
The KNCV Tuberculosis Fund was founded in 1903 in The Hague. We have made a major contribution to the elimination of tuberculosis (TB) in the Netherlands. Fortunately, the disease is now almost non-existent here in the Netherland. Worldwide though, more than 4,000 people still die from TB every day. Unnecessary, because tuberculosis can be cured. Over the past 118 years KNCV has become a force majeure in the field of effective TB prevention and care with significant contribution to global TB policy development and implementation of TB programs worldwide. In alignment with its mission and vision, KNCV supports patient-centered approaches to the elimination of TB and related health problems, with a clear focus on innovation. KNCV and its work remains of fundamental importance, as we sadly still see that 1.5 million people die yearly on average of TB, which makes it the second leading infectious killer after Covid-19. KNCV is committed to the fight against TB worldwide and will not stop until our mission has succeeded: a world free of TB!
