About Cappella Amsterdam

Cappella Amsterdam is a professional chamber choir that performs choral music at the very highest level. The choir performs both the standard choral repertoire and lesser-known choral works, spanning all eras and from around the world. At Cappella Amsterdam, you can hear works by Giaches de Wert, Johann Sebastian Bach, Calixto Álvarez, Aftab Darvishi, Sami Yusuf, and David Lang all in a single cultural season. The administrative team at Cappella Amsterdam works closely together and consists of a head of production, a production manager, marketing and communications staff, a controller, a business manager, and an artistic director.

Based at the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ in Amsterdam, Cappella Amsterdam produces its own concerts. These concerts may be a cappella, feature other musicians, or take a multidisciplinary approach. The choir also regularly performs as a guest with orchestras and other ensembles both in the Netherlands and abroad. Each season, the choir members perform an average of 15 productions, with approximately 60 concerts in large and small concert halls.

Cappella Amsterdam releases a new CD almost every year, and many of our CDs have received positive reviews and won prestigious awards. We release podcast episodes under the title“Cappella Amsterdam Discusses.” For more information about the choir, visitwww.cappellaamsterdam.nl.
