Business Director (M/F/N) for 36–40 hours per week
What will you be doing?
Together with the general director/manager of the “ ,” you will develop future-proof policies at the strategic level and translate them into daily practice. You will create multi-year financial and organizational (HR) plans, as well as an annual work plan that will be implemented at the Schuur. You monitor social developments that may influence policy and know how to inspire and motivate others. You ensure the financial continuity of both De Schuur and Toneelschuur Producties. You advise and oversee budget holders in the preparation and management of their budgets, and you are responsible for the annual audit. You prepare monthly and semi-annual financial reports for the Management Team, the Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders, such as grant providers. You lead the organization in a people-oriented manner, remaining visible and accessible to our employees. You directly manage the Finance, Human Resources & Organization department and the Secretariat (5 employees). You coordinate and structure management meetings.
What we're looking for
You share our belief in artists as key innovators and actively promote that belief. You have knowledge of the financial management of a cultural institution and an understanding of HR processes. You are an energetic and collaborative person who ensures that departments can work together effectively. You inspire enthusiasm and bring people along with you. Your leadership style is coaching-oriented. You give employees autonomy and trust where possible and provide guidance where necessary. You are empathetic, have an eye for talent, and know how to create a sense of social security within an organization.
You have strong strategic skills and are adept at guiding an organization undergoing change. You are proactive, analytical, driven, and a proactive contributor. You have a strong drive to focus on results and achieve goals.
You handle time pressure well and are willing to work irregular hours and on irregular days. You have demonstrable work experience in a similar role and a proven affinity for the cultural sector.
What we offer
We offer you a versatile and challenging position for at least 36 hours per week on a one-year contract. If you prove to be a good fit, an extension is certainly a possibility. De Schuur offers an inspiring, informal work environment in the center of Haarlem with dedicated and enthusiastic colleagues. The position is classified in scale XII in accordance with the Theater and Dance Collective Bargaining Agreement. In addition, De Schuur offers excellent benefits, such as a generous leave policy.
