(32 to 40 hours per week)

WHO ARE WE? 

Silbersee is a somewhat chaotic family of kindred spirits centered around artistic director Romain Bischoff. We

are rooted in opera, but throw open their doors and windows to unique talents from the most

a wide range of genres and disciplines. Using the voice as a primal instrument, we give voice to what is heard

should be. We enjoy collaborating with others and creating performances about the world today and that

You can find us on stages big and small, at festivals, and at unexpected indoor and outdoor venues. Silbersee

receives ongoing funding from the Performing Arts Fund and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts. 

WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES BE? 

The executive director and the artistic director together form the executive board. The two-member executive board is responsible for

delegates responsibility to the board. The executive director develops the policy together with the artistic director

of the organization and sets this out in a multi-year plan. The business director is responsible for the

is responsible for the foundation’s financial well-being, maintains contact with grant recipients and other funders, and organizes the

fundraising, distribution, and, where possible and appropriate, engaging commercial partners. The Executive Director

is responsible for the social well-being of the organization and its processes, human resources policy, and the

consultative structure. Collectively, the management team is responsible for effective marketing and communication,

and for public policy. Both directors represent the organization in the arts sector in consultation with one another

and beyond. 

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BUSINESS MANAGER WHO: 

  • an inspiring team player with a hands-on approach that fits well with our lean organization; 
  • has experience in the cultural sector, preferably in a similar role, and possesses a

    relevant network;

  •  anticipates social and political developments and understands how a cultural organization

    is able to respond to that;

  • possesses analytical skills; 
  • has excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); 
  • aligns with Silbersee’s focus and objectives in the areas of art, ecology, and society

    area; 

  • has experience bearing ultimate (financial) responsibility for the (strategic)

    an organization's development and control cycle; 

  • is decisive and sharp, and possesses political and administrative acumen; 
  • endorses the codes for Fair Practice and Diversity & Inclusion; 
  • coaches when possible and directs when necessary; 
  • is skilled at building and maintaining relationships. 

WHAT DO WE OFFER? 

  • a one-year appointment, with the prospect of a permanent position thereafter;
  • Salary in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Theater and Dance (Scale X);
  • a position of 32–40 hours per week, requiring attendance at evening performances and during the

    weekends are preferred;

  • a challenging and varied job in a casual team;
  • plenty of room for initiative; 
  • a nomadic workplace, mainly in Amsterdam, but often also on-site or at home.
