Read more here about the wide range of publications and activities we undertake.

With an international network spanning 35 countries, a professional staff of approximately 50 employees in Amsterdam, and a federation of 19 independent regional associations, COC Netherlands works toward a world where diversity is celebrated and equality is a given.

The role of the federation board

The federation’s board, consisting of a chairperson, secretary, treasurer, and general board members, plays a crucial role in setting the organization’s strategic direction. Specific tasks

  • Preside over board meetings and General Meetings.
  • Conduct performance and evaluation meetings with management.
  • Staying in touch with the chairs of the local chapters and attending various networking and strategy sessions.

What should you bring:

  • Experience with administrative responsibilities within an association, a nonprofit organization, or in politics.
  • Skill in developing and communicating a clear vision.
  • A talent for motivating people and fostering team spirit.
  • Excellent communication skills, preferably with experience in media appearances.
  • Ability to operate professionally in complex governance contexts.
  • A network within civil society organizations, politics, and/or fundraising.
  • Understanding the dynamics of volunteer organizations.
  • A strong-willed individual with the ability to bring people together, who doesn’t shy away from resistance.

What do we offer?

  • A dynamic environment where you can make a social impact and broaden your personal and professional horizons.
  • A role in which you make a strategic contribution to LGBTI+ empowerment, both nationally and internationally.
  • The opportunity to expand your network and make a difference in a diverse community.
  • A volunteer position that offers reimbursement for expenses and plenty of opportunities for personal growth.
