The Education Disputes Foundation is dedicated to professional dispute resolution in the education sector. We are seeking an enthusiastic and authoritative chairperson (start date: September 1, 2026) and a vice chairperson (start date: February 1, 2027) for the National Committee for Higher Education Participation Disputes.
Various participatory bodies operate within universities and colleges. If the parties involved are unable to reach an agreement, they may submit their dispute to the National Commission for Higher Education Participation Disputes.
The Commission was established by law. All public universities and colleges are automatically members; private institutions may join voluntarily.
The Commission issues binding decisions that both parties must comply with. Decisions may be appealed to the Commercial Division of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.
Before a dispute is filed, the parties must first explore whether they can reach a resolution together, either through the Executive Board or—if the Executive Board is a party to the dispute—through the Supervisory Board. Only if an amicable resolution cannot be reached will the dispute be submitted to the Commission.
The Commission handles a maximum of two to three disputes each year.
