The Democracy and Media Foundation (SDM) is firmly committed to the universal values and fundamental rights that form the foundation of the Dutch liberal democratic constitutional state. Drawing on its history as the founder of the underground newspaper Het Parool, SDM works to build support for these values and rights by contributing to future-proof journalistic media and a dynamic and vibrant democracy. SDM does this, among other things, by investing in organizations and initiatives that strengthen the democratic rule of law and challenge our political system to be more open and just. We are seeking aProgram Director for SDM
Position within the organization
The program director leads a small, dedicated team of program managers and staff members. Together with them, you proactively invest in organizations and initiatives that are relevant to SDM’s mission. You also serve as a sounding board and (strategic) advisor to organizations with which an investment relationship has already been established, and you oversee the coaching and training offerings. In addition, you will support the Director in achieving SDM’s strategic objectives and assist with the implementation of the updated organizational model. Finally, you will represent SDM at relevant meetings and help strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
