The Reading Foundation is a driving force behind the promotion of reading and literary education. Through knowledge sharing, programs, and research, we ensure that children and young people aged 0–20 can grow into skilled and enthusiastic readers. We support the people who work with children every day: from early childhood educators and pediatric nurses to librarians, teachers, and parents.

Reading is the key to a promising future. Those who can read well fare better in school, at work, and in society. Reading opens doors to knowledge, imagination, self-confidence, and resilience. That is why every child has the right to learn to read well and to develop into a skilled, motivated, and curious reader.

We raise awareness of the importance of reading, share knowledge, and connect professionals and partners. Together, we work toward a single goal: a society in which every child learns to read from birth through the end of their school years. Because reading skills and a love of reading are essential for equal opportunities.
