A project is moving forward, and reports are coming in all at once. You weigh the pros and cons, make tough decisions, and offer insightful advice—even when it isn’t asked for. Teams and the management team rely on your judgment. Is this the right fit for you? Read on.
A major replacement project in the city is moving forward. Meanwhile, reports are coming in to the technical help desk, and teams are asking for guidance. As Manager of Support and Asset Planning, you determine what needs to be done first, what can wait, and who is responsible for what. Together with your teams, you provide the requested support and both solicited and unsolicited advice—not as a hindrance to the organization, but as a solid foundation for everything GVB Techniek does. Is this the right fit for you? Read on.
As Manager of Support and Asset Planning, you will lead the support teams at GVB Techniek. You will manage the team leaders for asset information and contract management, work closely with the technical help desk, and also directly supervise the Strategy, Portfolio & Risk team. Together with a group of approximately 55 professionals, you will ensure that the technical department can rely on robust processes, reliable information, and effective oversight. You maintain a visible presence in the office and work on-site an average of four days a week.
You bring energy, structure, and coherence to processes that are essential for tomorrow’s operations. You develop a robust and ambitious annual plan for technical support, professionalize incident management, and ensure that reports, analyses, and follow-up are not only well-organized but also lead to tangible improvements. With support from the PMO and the compliance project leader, you bring focus to the portfolio and help set priorities: which projects are having an impact right now, where are the risks, and what does the city expect from GVB? You make trade-offs transparent and ensure that decisions are supported.
You understand how asset management, data, and technology come together. You identify opportunities to make processes smarter, more predictable, and future-proof, and you engage colleagues in the change process. In doing so, you combine technical expertise with collaborative leadership: you connect with people, provide direction, and foster a sense of ownership. As a member of the Engineering Management Team, you make a substantial substantive contribution and actively help shape the department’s direction.
You are an experienced manager who thrives in complex technical and operational environments where many interests converge. You are confident, decisive, and approachable as a leader.
In addition:
You take good care of our travelers, so we’ll take good care of you. Here’s what we offer you:
You will work with four team leaders and a group of experienced specialists in the areas of technical support, asset information, portfolio management, contract management, and compliance. The team also includes the compliance project manager, and you will have your own PMO to support the organization and implementation of projects and processes. Together, you form the Technical Management Team, which brings together subject matter expertise, collaboration, and decision-making.
The team is knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated. Many colleagues have been with GVB for a long time and know the organization well. You will provide direction, foster cohesion, and create a work environment where people take responsibility, hold each other accountable, and work together to drive results and development.
