More about this organization
A group of children is sitting in a circle around a fire pit in a historic wooden cabin; supervisors are watching as the children participate in an educational activity.

Do you always talk about the past with great enthusiasm? And do you enjoy taking school groups on a journey back in time? Then a job at the Prehistoric Village is definitely for you! We’re looking for educational staff for the new season who, as historical reenactors, will guide school groups through their program. You’ll give instructions, monitor progress and safety, and create the right atmosphere during the program. You’ll actively engage the group in life in the past! Sometimes you’ll work in prehistory, other times in the Middle Ages. Of course, you’ll always wear period-appropriate clothing.

The target audience consists primarily of upper-grade elementary school students. In addition, lower-grade elementary school students, secondary school students, and businesses are increasingly becoming part of our target audience. When there are no school groups, you will serve as a time guide and take our regular visitors on a journey into the past by offering them activities and giving guided tours.

The Prehistoric Village is a lively open-air museum in Eindhoven, where visitors of all ages can experience the past. At our museum, visitors actively discover what daily life was like in the past. Through living history, they take a journey through time from early prehistory to the late Middle Ages. The museum welcomes more than 70,000 visitors annually, including many families and school groups. We are currently collaborating withthe Eindhoven Museumon the development ofMuseumpark Vonk: an expansion of the current Prehistoric Village featuring fascinating structures and a modern museum building with an introductory show, exhibition, and workshop. The new museum is expected to open in the spring of 2026 and will be open year-round.

Our enthusiastic team consists of 13 full-time employees, approximately 40 seasonal staff members, and more than 200 dedicated volunteers. Together, we create a unique historical experience for every visitor.
