The Organization: Context and Ambition

Pluspunt is the leading wellness organization in the municipality of Zandvoort, a town with over 17,000 residents. In this dynamic town, Pluspunt works on behalf of the municipality to create a healthy and resilient living environment. This ambition is realized through the principles of Positive Health, which focuses not only on physical health but also on mental well-being and social participation. Pluspunt strengthens the living environment through a range of activities and services tailored to the individual and designed to meet the diverse needs of the Zandvoort community.

The organization focuses on four themes that are essential to the well-being of residents. For example, Pluspunt focuses onchildren and young peopleby creating a positive living environment in which they can grow up healthy, safe, and with opportunities, free from substance abuse. Pluspunt also focuses onhealthy living, enabling all residents to live as healthily as possible. Meaningful workis the key theme that helps residents fill their days with purposeful activities that contribute to developing their employability and their participation in society. The themeof independent livingprimarily helps older adults feel comfortable, participate in Zandvoort’s community, and cope with the challenges they face in life.

Pluspunt collaborates with other social services and healthcare organizations, the municipality, and independent healthcare professionals to provide a broad network of support. This collaboration ensures an integrated approach, drawing on diverse perspectives and expertise to achieve the greatest possible impact.

Pluspunt is led by an executive director and a management team (MT) consisting of three managers, and has a staff of 25 to 30 paid employees, supported by more than 240 volunteers. Together, they make a significant contribution to the quality of life in Zandvoort, with the commitment and expertise of employees and volunteers forming the foundation for the organization’s success. With this extensive range of services, Pluspunt plays a crucial role in strengthening social cohesion and promoting well-being in Zandvoort, making the organization an indispensable link in the region’s social services and healthcare landscape.

In connection with the departure of our current CEO on January 1, 2025, we are seeking an inspiring successor.

The Role of Managing Director

As Executive Director, you will set the direction for Pluspunt and represent the organization to various stakeholders. You are entrepreneurial, solution-oriented, and a natural connector. You have strong interpersonal skills and know how to build trust and establish strong connections at various levels (both horizontally and vertically). With a sharp analytical eye and a proactive attitude, you respond to developments in the community and collaborate on sustainable solutions.

With your strategic insight and hands-on approach, you will lead the management team and create an environment where all employees and volunteers can thrive. You have a coaching, facilitative leadership style that aligns with Pluspunt’s culture. You effortlessly switch between conversations with aldermen, volunteers, residents, and the Board of Trustees, and ensure Pluspunt’s strong positioning in Zandvoort.

The challenges

As Executive Director of Pluspunt, you will have the opportunity to further raise Pluspunt’s profile and position it among stakeholders. You will build upon a well-functioning organization and a sound financial foundation. You will lead an organization comprising professionals from diverse backgrounds and a large network of 240 volunteers. You will engage them, as well as our partners and clients, in the process of identifying and addressing shared needs and challenges, working toward an integrated approach that strengthens collaboration among various partners.

You have a unique ability to anticipate social trends and can proactively engage the municipal organization in new opportunities for collaboration. With your keen insight and strong communication skills, you are able to identify opportunities and turn them into concrete partnerships.

In addition, you will be able to generate financial resources by tapping into new sources and ensure responsible business operations, while providing transparent and goal-oriented accountability to municipalities and the Supervisory Board. You will foster collaboration, innovation, and a solution-oriented approach both within and outside the organization, so that Pluspunt can continue to develop and respond to the changing needs of the community.

Through your leadership, you will build trust in and raise the profile of Pluspunt, so that stakeholders can easily find the organization and are eager to align themselves with our mission and vision. You will create a network of stakeholders who will work alongside Pluspunt to realize our vision based on the principles of Positive Health, Quality of Life, and Well-being in Zandvoort.

What do you bring to the table?

As the Executive Director of Pluspunt, you are a leader who inspires others, with a clear vision and strategic insight, combined with a strong connection to Zandvoort, its residents, and the surrounding area. You recognize yourself in the following characteristics:

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, supplemented by relevant management training, which provides you with a solid foundation for both strategic and operational responsibilities.
  • You have knowledge of and work experience in the social sector—for example, in social welfare, social services, or related fields—which gives you a solid understanding of how to effectively address the needs of diverse target groups. You are proactive and focus on opportunities and solutions.
  • You have relevant experience as a manager with overall responsibility, and you are accustomed to balancing day-to-day management with strategic direction.
  • You have strong business acumen, experience with financial reporting, and know how to effectively manage an organization in both social and financial terms.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and are able to build relationships at various levels, both horizontally and vertically. Whether dealing with residents, employees, the municipality, politicians, or partners, you know how to strike the right tone and take the right approach.
  • You have a keen sense of political and administrative dynamics, take a pragmatic approach, and have a facilitative and coaching leadership style that empowers others.
  • You have strong analytical skills and are proactive in dealing with stakeholders, quickly identifying opportunities and challenges and translating them into concrete actions.
  • You have a healthy dose of self-reflection, humor, and the ability to keep things in perspective, which makes you an inspiring and approachable leader for your team and partners.
  • You have a connection to Zandvoort and its culture, and you feel a sense of belonging to the local community and its unique characteristics.

What do we offer?

Pluspunt offers a challenging and multifaceted role with significant social impact and excellent employment conditions. As Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to lead a highly dedicated team and volunteer organization. The position is classified in pay grade 13 in accordance with the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement, with a maximum salary of €8,691 per month (for a full-time position of 36 hours per week, effective January 1, 2025).
