- You represent the organization in all relevant external forums, consultative bodies, and networks, and are able to effectively advocate and present arguments from the patient’s perspective.
- You will develop and implement lobbying and advocacy strategies.
- You will be responsible for strategic positioning and policy decisions within the framework of the annual plan.
- You identify social, political, and medical trends and translate them into strategic advice for the organization. You have a natural inclination to seek out new opportunities.
- You will actively work on relationship management and strengthening network partnerships.
- You are the spokesperson for the press.
- You will work closely with the Director of Operations & Internal Affairs on decisions that affect the team or the internal organization.
- As part of the executive team, you will ensure that the organization maintains a future-proof position in the field.
- You will work closely with the team and the experts by experience.

You will report to the Director of Operations & Internal Affairs.
You in this role
You feel at home in a dynamic environment involving patients, healthcare, politics, and science. You switch effortlessly between a meaningful conversation with a patient, a substantive discussion with policymakers, and an interview with the press. You think strategically, act decisively, and always put the patient’s perspective first.
What you bring to the table:
- You have extensive experience as a stakeholder manager in complex (healthcare) networks or programs.
- You have experience with lobbying and advocacy, preferably at the national level.
- You're very familiar with the Dutch healthcare system and know how things work.
- Knowledge of post-COVID and PAIS is a plus; a willingness to quickly learn more about these topics is a must.
- You have a college- or university-level education and way of thinking.
- You're a strategist; you spot opportunities, capitalize on momentum, and aren't afraid to make decisions.
- You're a true team player; you bring people together and keep everyone engaged.
- You're a driving force; you get people moving and keep going, even when things get tough.
- You are persuasive and bold, and you aren’t afraid to be blunt when necessary.
- You have political sensitivity; you have a good sense of what’s appropriate, when, and with whom.
- Of course, you will be working with (and for) people with lived experience.

- A one-year contract with the option to renew.
- A salary in accordance with pay scale L (ranging from €4,910 to €7,205) under the Longfonds Collective Bargaining Agreement, depending on education and experience, based on a 36-hour workweek.
