Mediacollege Amsterdam is looking for a
Director of Education (Vocational Education)
Right now, I’m brainstorming with a few students; later, I’ll be working on a proposal for educational reform.
No two days are the same, and the work is incredibly varied. That’s what you’ll be dealing with as Director of Education (MBO) at Mediacollege Amsterdam. And, of course, you’ll need to be able to handle that.
In this role, you will oversee educational and service delivery processes and be involved in the preparation and implementation of educational policy. In addition, you will contribute ideas for the development and innovation of education and provide leadership to program managers. You will advise the Executive Board on various topics. And that is just a small sample of your responsibilities. As you can see, it takes some courage to apply for this position. Fortunately, you won’t have to do it all on your own. You’ll work together in the Executive Team with the Executive Board and the Director of VMBO.
And, of course, we’re not just looking for anyone. First and foremost, we’d like someone who is willing to dedicate themselves body and soul to the role. But there’s more. As a prospective Director of Education, you’ve already gained the necessary work experience—ideally, about ten years. You are familiar with current developments, both within the media sector and within education. You have a clear vision and ideas about the position Mediacollege Amsterdam should occupy in the professional field as a creative vocational school. Based on your experience, you know better than anyone what change processes entail. In this regard, you are a connector, decisive, results-oriented, collaborative, and above all, hands-on. Naturally, you hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree and may have further supplemented this with management training.
We know we’re asking a lot. We realize that. But of course, you’ll get a lot in return. Because working at Mediacollege Amsterdam means joining a creative vocational school where you can experience the dynamic energy of the media world. You can count on a temporary contract for 1.0 FTE with the prospect of a permanent contract and an excellent salary (scale 13 of the collective labor agreement for vocational education). In addition, you’ll receive an end-of-year bonus, a vacation allowance, a pension plan, travel expense reimbursement, a contribution toward health insurance, a good work-life balance, and, of course, plenty of vacation days.
Are you still excited about this opportunity and think this job is the perfect fit for you? Then submit your application via the application button by June 1 to Anton Tempelaar, recruiter. If you have any questions about the position or the application process, please feel free to contact him (a.tempelaar@ma-web.nl). We look forward to hearing from you.
We teach courage.
