Director

IW Zuid & Midden is seeking a director who, together with the current director, will form a strong and complementary leadership team. You will take the lead in the Midden region and steer the organization’s development and future-readiness based on a shared strategic vision. We are looking for a leader who provides direction, builds connections, and drives change. Someone who can translate IW’s strategic direction into tangible results and further strengthen collaboration with businesses, schools, municipalities, and industry organizations. You will bring new energy, add structure and focus, stimulate innovation, and act with a sense of urgency in a market that is changing at an ever-increasing pace. At the same time, you are an inspiration: you know how to motivate teams, build sustainable networks, and you always keep IW’s social mission in mind: guiding young people and professionals toward a future-proof career in technology.

What you will be doing

In this role:

• You will manage your district managers and help build a professional, open, and results-oriented culture;
• build strong and lasting partnerships with schools, training companies, municipalities, and industry partners;
• You identify trends in technology, the labor market, and vocational education, and translate these into new concepts and services;
• represent IW in regional and national networks and strengthen the organization’s visibility and standing;
• you bring structure, stability, and direction to an organization that is rapidly evolving;
• You will work closely and as an equal partner with the current director, with whom you will jointly set the course and achieve progress;
• you will contribute to policy development, strategic decisions, and administrative resolutions.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a modern leader who is both strategically strong and people-oriented. You are confident, maintain a broad perspective, and know how to engage people in the change process. You think ahead, bring structure to the table, and have the persuasive power to actually bring plans to fruition. You are a natural team player who connects with others and approaches situations with warmth, and you navigate easily between different interests and levels.

You will bring:

• At least five years of managerial experience—preferably in engineering, installation, construction, or an educational setting;
• a completed associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, education, or a related field;
• strong business and financial acumen;
• the ability to optimize processes and provide guidance to teams;
• experience with regional cooperation and stakeholder management;
• a natural, collaborative leadership style suited to a dual-leadership structure;
• Excellent communication skills and an open and approachable demeanor.

Terms of Employment

The position offers attractive terms and conditions that reflect a role of significance and responsibility. You will receive a gross monthly salary between €7,210 and €10,739, depending on your knowledge and experience, a fixed 13th-month bonus, 25 days of vacation, and a bonus scheme. You will have a company car and modern equipment such as a phone, laptop, and tablet, making hybrid work a viable option. 

This position requires a high level of visibility in the region: you’ll regularly be on the go, visiting locations, schools, businesses, and events, sometimes in the evenings as well. It’s a role that beautifully combines professional challenges, flexibility, and social impact.
