Digitalization and data-driven approaches are key tools for further improving the quality of service provided to Havensteder’s internal and external clients. As such, digitalization and data-driven approaches directly contribute to Havensteder’s mission of providing residents with a home. Because no matter what you do, ultimately that is what you are working toward: providing a home for people with limited income or in vulnerable situations. Would you like to contribute to “the Havensteder of the future,” and do you recognize yourself in the profile below? If so, we look forward to receiving your application.
: The Organization Havensteder is a housing association in the Rotterdam metropolitan area. It employs approximately 500 people and, with a portfolio of over 45,000 homes, provides a home for many residents in and around Rotterdam. Havensteder has ambitious goals for improving the quality, supply, and sustainability of its housing and aims to enhance the living experience of residents and other tenants. These goals are outlined in the Havensteder Plan 2022-2025. The plan includes the construction of 900 additional social housing units and 500 mid-range rental units, and encompasses approximately 2,000 home improvement projects. Circular construction is a key focus, as Havensteder aims to be resource-neutral by 2050.
Digitalization and data-driven working are key prerequisites for our ambitions.
Making our residents feel at home is a top priority in our daily work. The homes we rent out and the way we do so are crucial to how residents feel at home—we understand this better than anyone. Havensteder is transitioning its operations to digital, for both residents and employees. We are working to be digitally accessible to our residents 24/7; we want to offer the option to manage your affairs online whenever and wherever you want, while providing personal contact where necessary. Specifically, this means that by 2025, all primary customer and organizational processes must be end-to-end configured and digitized, so that our employees can make optimal use of the digital capabilities within Havensteder.
Data is playing an increasingly important role in our field. In recent years, for example, we at Havensteder have used real estate data to describe and clarify our housing portfolio. In the coming period, we will take this a step further and use our data to better predict our maintenance needs. Data is also playing an increasingly significant role in other areas: to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods, to support our residents when needed, and to ensure we can be in the right place at the right time alongside our neighborhood partners.
The Position of Director of Digital Transformation (
) Until recently, responsibility for digitization and data management fell under the Director of HRM, I&A, and Facilities. Given the strategic importance of both the HRM function and the areas of digitization and data management, it was decided to split the role into two separate management positions. One of these positions is that of Director of Digital Transformation, which underscores the importance and essence of this role—and its implementation—within the organization and its development.
