The Senate cannot function without a reliable information system. For instance, our website has an excellent reputation among everyone involved in the legislative process. We also ensure that members of the Senate receive optimal support, both in terms of technical capabilities and user-friendliness. In addition, we make sure that citizens can quickly find relevant information on their own or receive assistance from us when requesting further details. Furthermore, we must continually improve our defenses against attacks on our information systems. Compromising these systems can have major consequences for the democratic process, so high quality standards apply to our information security and privacy protection.
To ensure that we can continue to perform the above tasks effectively in the future, a decision was recently made to consolidate all IT information provision and security functions into a single department: the CIO Office. This department, consisting of approximately twelve colleagues, includes a head, help desk staff, (senior) information advisors, programmers, DIV colleagues, a privacy officer, and a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In addition, some of the roles (including those of the Information Security Officer and Technical Information Officer) are filled externally.
Some of these roles are already well-established within the organization, but a significant number of them are new. One of these new roles is that of CISO. Until now, this role was filled as a secondary responsibility by our business controller, but due to its great importance, it has been decided to make this an independent and specialized position. This gives you a unique opportunity to use your expertise in information security to build up the CIO Office together with your other (IT) colleagues and forge it into a professional and collaborative team.
You are a subject matter expert with a broad knowledge of information security. You are familiar with and keep up to date on developments in the field of information security. In addition, you have:
