The Boat Refugee Foundation is a growing organization that provides medical and psychological assistance to refugees. We distinguish ourselves through our pragmatic approach in an international setting, delivering aid where it is needed most. We have been doing this since 2015 at various locations on the fringes of Europe.
We currently operate at three locations in Greece and Eastern Europe. We are a young, medium-sized aid organization with a close-knit team. At our headquarters in Ede, sixteen staff members work every day to make our missions possible. At our various field locations, an average of ten full-time staff members work alongside teams of professional volunteers.
We are looking for a passionate professional with extensive leadership experience, preferably in the humanitarian sector. You are committed to the work we do and want to make a difference in this field. As director, you will play a central and unifying role in the development and structure of the entire organization. You will have final responsibility for the results achieved and for the well-being and focus of the teams. You will represent the foundation’s vision and safeguard our unique DNA. In this role, you are a strategically strong visionary capable of setting the course. In addition to advocating for the foundation’s interests, you are also willing to make “business” decisions.
The foundation is currently in a phase of further development in which strategic directions need to be further defined. You have experience in this area and know how to lead an organization that is evolving.
In your role as Executive Director, you will lead and serve as the point of contact for the Head of Fundraising & Operations and the Head of Programs, each of whom leads a distinct part of the organization. Together, you form the management team (MT) and complement one another.
Do you care deeply about refugees and see it as a challenge to help the management team chart our course moving forward? If so, we’d like to offer you the following:
