Paradiso Melkweg Productiehuis (PMP), a collaboration between the two most famous pop venues in the Netherlands, is a home for musical creators working at the intersection of pop music, theater, dance, visual art, and the performing arts. Our mission is to make the pop sector resilient and sustainable by working with diverse, daring, and artistically compelling creators. Sharing knowledge, collaborating, and daring to take risks are central to this mission.
PMP does this by creating space for experimentation and providing tailored artistic and business guidance. Together with our creators and within our projects, we address urgent and substantive themes, both on a social and artistic level. These range from identity, gender, and biculturalism to experience and (technical) innovation. PMP is currently working with LIONSTORM, Yallah! Yallah!, Kay Slice, and Chagall, among others.

Managing Director
Effective June 1, 2022, for 0.8 FTE
As Executive Director, you are responsible for the vision, policy, and day-to-day management of the Paradiso Melkweg Productiehuis Foundation. You have final responsibility for ongoing projects and productions, and are always on the lookout for new opportunities, collaborations, and connections for the future. You leverage your network to advance PMP and enrich it with fresh perspectives. You are also involved in fundraising and securing grants, and are responsible for financial matters. The Executive Director serves as the foundation’s director and reports to the Supervisory Board. Within the organization, you will work alongside the Artistic Coordinator (total of 1.6 FTE salaried positions). In addition, PMP works with a team of 15–20 freelancers on a project basis.
As the Executive Director of PMP, you know how to strike a balance between substantive engagement and business responsibility. You are close to the creators, but you also know how to step back and are able to oversee the big picture. You are skilled in communication and know how to motivate and inspire people with your leadership style. You are well-informed about developments in the cultural sector and can formulate a long-term vision centered on a bold, diverse, and progressive profile for PMP.
Your profile
- You have experience leading a team and developing substantive, financial, and strategic policies;
- You’re a creative go-getter who knows how to turn ideas into tangible results;
- You are approachable and sociable, and you work well in a team; you ensure that employees, creators, and creative freelancers thrive in their work;
- You’re adventurous and open-minded, and you like to think outside the box;
- You have a college or university level of education and at least three years of relevant experience;
- You have an interest in the current productions of Paradiso Melkweg Productiehuis (www.paradisomelkwegproductiehuis.nl)

- Salary scale 8 in accordance with the Paradiso collective bargaining agreement (€3,109.13 – €3,865.81 based on full-time employment), depending on relevant work experience.
