More about this organization
A group of enthusiastic employees from the Move Foundation poses cheerfully with their arms raised in front of a colorful wall featuring the logo.

As Executive Director, you are the driving force behind SKB! You ensure that SKB’s vision and goals are upheld and provide feedback to the board, which consists of representatives from the five organizations. You are our public face and, as such, a true networker. You represent our interests in The Hague, with funding organizations, in the education sector, and with other partners.

Are you making a difference for children and young people in the Netherlands? The Partnership for Equal Opportunities & Citizenship (SKB) is an initiative of JINC, Stichting Jong Ondernemen, Stichting Move, Stichting Nederlands Debatinstituut, and Stichting Petje af. These five nonprofit organizations have been dedicated to supporting children and young people for many years and are joining forces through this partnership. We are looking for a:

Director of the Partnership for Equal Opportunity & Citizenship

8 hours per week starting September 1, 2023 | 24 hours per week starting January 1, 2024

What will you be doing?

As Executive Director, you are the driving force behind the SKB! You uphold the SKB’s vision and goals and report back to the board, which consists of representatives from the five member organizations. You are our public face and, as such, a true networker. You advocate for our interests in The Hague, with funding agencies, in the education sector, and among other partners. You are skilled at articulating what the SKB is and why we exist. You can win others over and do not shy away from a conversation. You are capable of growing the SKB into a larger platform where more organizations join and no one can ignore us. In addition, you are responsible for securing ongoing funding for the SKB and manage one project/communications officer.

What are you bringing?

  • You have an affinity for children and young people and are committed to promoting equal opportunity;
  • You are familiar with the issues and the field;
  • You have strong organizational skills and experience in a leadership role;
  • You are a skilled networker with strong communication skills and can interact effectively with a wide range of people;
  • You have experience in setting up, structuring, and scaling up projects, as well as in fundraising and financial management;
  • You have a good sense of the issues at stake, are politically astute, build connections, and don’t shy away from difficult conversations;
  • You are proactive, independent, and detail-oriented;
  • It is an advantage if you are familiar with one of the organizations in the partnership.

What do we have to offer?

  • A challenging role in addition to any other duties (starting January 1, 2024; due to the neutral nature of the role, preferably not with one of the organizations in the partnership);
  • You can manage your time flexibly, but we also expect flexibility in return;
  • A diverse, meaningful assignment;
  • Attractive employment terms and a competitive salary, based on scale 12 of the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement;
  • A work-from-home setup and at the five SKB partner locations.
