Deltion College is seeking a Director of the Well-being and Health Department. The healthcare sector is undergoing significant changes due to an aging population, the rise of healthcare technology, increasingly complex issues, and a tight labor market. This calls for modern and flexible education that prepares students aged 16 to 67 for these challenges in close collaboration with the professional field. We are looking for a new Director of the Well-being and Health Department who is enthusiastic about all these developments, can translate changes in healthcare into effective education, and is ready to take on this exciting challenge!

We are looking for an innovator and an inspiration. Someone who can effortlessly switch between ensuring the “basics are in order” and tackling our wide-ranging change initiatives. You are well-connected within local and regional networks, maintain contacts with employers in the healthcare sector, understand the language of both healthcare and education, and will help the Welfare and Health Board shape the education of tomorrow.

What will you be doing?

At Deltion, you’ll chart your course using our strategic vision, “Meet your future at Deltion.” You’ll use our long-term strategy and the MBO quality agenda to achieve our goals. In addition, you’ll the “Sustainable and Adaptable” municipal plan the right direction and guide you where necessary to achieve our shared goal. On that journey, development, quality assurance, collaboration, and innovation are your guiding principles.

As College Director, you have overall responsibility for your college, which has approximately 3,000 students and 225 staff members. You are responsible for 10 programs in the field of healthcare and social services. Together with your dedicated management team (MT), you will deliver on our three strategic commitments:

  1. At Deltion, you’ll learn more.
  2. You are in charge of your own development.
  3. Deltion is a place for connection, inspiration, and innovation.

As College Director, you are fully committed to fulfilling these three promises. Together, you set the course and inspire your college to follow it.

You will foster collaboration within and between the departments. A key responsibility is to strengthen and further develop relationships with the professional community in the region. You will represent Deltion at the executive and administrative levels within existing external networks.

In addition, you are uniquely well-informed about developments in education—particularly in the healthcare and social services sectors—and, together with your management team, you translate these into daily practice. With you, we bring professional practice and vocational education together in the best possible way. You do this by continuously updating, streamlining, and facilitating the curriculum, ensuring that we at Deltion continue to meet our students’ learning needs. Whether students are 16 or 67 years old, beginners, experienced, or career changers: anyone with a learning need in the field of healthcare and welfare can turn to your course.

Your college also offers employers customized programs and a range of options tailored to the evolving needs of the healthcare and social services sector. Together with your college, you can effectively address these changing professional development needs.

In addition to your responsibilities for the college, you will also be part of Deltion’s executive team. In this role, you will be responsible for Deltion-wide strategic issues. You will contribute to the development and evaluation of Deltion and help shape its management philosophy. You will serve as a sounding board for the Executive Board and be a valued colleague to the other directors.

  • Academic level of work and thinking.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a field influenced by social and/or political and administrative developments.
  • Experience in a strategic role within an organization undergoing change.
  • Extensive experience in leading organization-wide change management initiatives.
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in the welfare, healthcare, and education sectors.
  • It’s an advantage if you have a relevant network in the region, so you can quickly capitalize on the opportunities and developments that arise.
  • It is an advantage if you have a broad general knowledge of the education sector and/or the various fields of study within the Well-being and Health program.

Furthermore, based on a 40-hour workweek, we offer you:

  • A gross monthly salary based on pay scale 14, with the possibility of a supplement of up to €8,400 to align with your previous salary and work experience.
  • 8% vacation pay and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%
  • 10 weeks of leave per year.
