Everyone has the right to healthcare. Yet even in the Netherlands, access to healthcare is not a given for everyone. Doctors of the World is dedicated to helping people who have nowhere else to turn for medical care. Doctors of the World is part of the international medical network Médecins du Monde and operates in more than 70 countries in addition to the Netherlands. Our organization relies on dedicated volunteers, professionals, and members. In the Netherlands, we have a team of approximately 50 paid staff members and 300 volunteers.
We are working in various locations to improve access to healthcare. Doctors of the World has grown significantly in the Netherlands in recent years. Through our programs, we provide access to basic medical care, sexual and reproductive health services, mental health care, and dental care to people who would otherwise be left behind. Drawing on testimonials from our programs, we are committed to driving structural social and political change.
