Do you consider yourself an entrepreneur with a passion for art and culture, and do you have the ability to help an organization grow by inspiring and connecting people? We look forward to speaking with you!
Museum de Fundatie is a leading museum in the eastern part of the country. We showcase renowned artists and designers, and we are always on the lookout for new talent. We have an international focus, but are also deeply rooted in Overijssel. The museum is open to everyone and offers a diverse program, ranging from historical to contemporary art and design, both in our own museums and at festivals and in public buildings. We are a trendsetter, and through our creativity, we have successfully established ourselves with a broad audience in recent years. Our exhibitions and collection are on display at two locations: Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle and Kasteel het Nijenhuis, featuring a sculpture garden, in Heino/Wijhe.
As Deputy Director, you are responsible for ensuring efficient operations at both locations. You oversee financial policy, the planning and control cycle, HR, facility management, and IT at both of these unique, historic sites. You contribute to the organization’s growth, optimize processes, and ensure efficient project management. You contribute to the museum’s overall policy and report to Director of https://www.museumdefundatie.nl/nl/beatrice-von-bormann-nieuwe-directeur-museum-de-fundatie/, with whom you form a close-knit team. In addition, you will maintain relevant external contacts and relationships with stakeholders.
You will lead the Operations team, which consists of a Head of Technology & IT, an (external) controller, a financial administrator, a human resources administrator, and the floor managers. The floor managers, in turn, will lead the Public Affairs team, which also oversees the museum’s shop and food and beverage services. You will work closely with the Development Manager to secure grants and raise funds from public and private foundations and donors.
In addition, you have relevant expertise in HRM and finance, extensive experience as a business manager, and familiarity with managing organizations that interact with the public. While knowledge of the cultural sector is not a requirement, it is considered a plus.
A unique workplace in a growing museum, with colleagues who are passionate about their work at Museum de Fundatie and in the cultural sector.
A one-year appointment with the prospect of a permanent contract if the candidate proves suitable. The salary ranges from €4,556 to €6,527 (scale 13 of the Museum Collective Labor Agreement, effective July 1, 2023), depending on education and experience, for a full 36-hour workweek, excluding an 8% vacation allowance and the year-end bonus.
Museum de Fundatie is committed to diversity in the broadest sense. We do not discriminate based on your religious beliefs, age, background, or sexual orientation. We are interested in your talent. That is why we strongly encourage people from diverse backgrounds to apply.
