More about this organization
Two women talking in the office: one wearing glasses and with braided hair, sitting across from a woman in a yellow shirt at a computer.

Justice is important to you. You have a soft spot for people who struggle to navigate the legal system. As the leader of two teams, you help pave the way toward justice. You enjoy using your skills to lead and inspire the teams. When you put those skills to work for a worthy cause, you have a job where you truly make a difference. That cause is “A just solution for everyone.”

We are looking for a team leader who is willing to lead two of our teams with vision and decisiveness. We have dedicated, knowledgeable advisors, and we know exactly who we are working for. We are increasingly focusing our services on finding appropriate solutions for the people who seek our help. As a team leader, you will oversee the services provided at our offices, both in terms of quantity and quality. You will contribute to our ambition to provide high-quality, accessible legal services alongside your team of legal advisors. Professional autonomy and a results-oriented approach are becoming increasingly important within our teams. We are looking for a team leader who, together with our teams, is willing to try out new ways of working, and who facilitates, inspires, and challenges the teams as they navigate change.

This is you

You are a leader who inspires, supports, and coaches colleagues. You collaborate and contribute ideas, are curious and critical, and aren’t afraid to address issues when things aren’t going well. You communicate clearly, empathetically, and with a sense of humor. You know what your teams need to do their jobs well—and you facilitate that with a focus on both results and humanity. You are interested in current events in society and specifically in your region. You are highly capable of maintaining an overview. You are willing to seek out new challenges, reflect honestly on successes and failures, and are able to build support for change. You have completed at least a bachelor’s degree, you are familiar with working in legal services, and you have some managerial experience.

This is your team

You will lead two teams of expert (senior) legal advisors with diverse backgrounds and work experience. They assist people seeking legal advice by phone, at the front desk, or during office hours. To them, you are visible, easily reachable, and approachable.

The team in Utrecht consists of twelve colleagues. The team assists clients seeking legal assistance from our office on Catharijnesingel. The Amersfoort team does the same with eight colleagues from the office on Asch van Wijckstraat. Both teams work independently but support each other when needed—for example, with front desk staffing or telephone support. As a team leader, it is important that you provide stability and are committed to these teams for the long term.

Together with the branches in The Hague and Leiden, these two branches form the Mid-West region. The region roughly covers the province of Utrecht and the northern part of South Holland. In the region, you will be part of the Regional Management Team (RMT), consisting of a regional manager, a regional coordinator, and two fellow team leaders. There is plenty of room for the branches to maintain their “local character,” while the RMT remains energized when addressing shared topics and approaches. For ideas, inspiration, and opportunities to brainstorm, you can turn to your fellow team leaders and your regional manager.

What we offer you

  • You’ll become part of an ambitious and supportive regional management team (regional manager, regional director, and three team leaders), where you can find inspiration and bounce ideas off one another;
  • We offer you plenty of opportunities and support for your personal development. For example, you’ll have access to training and coaching, and you’ll participate in the leadership development program;
  • You will work at both locations (Utrecht and Amersfoort), and regional management team meetings are usually held at the The Hague office, near The Hague Central Station;
  • You will be offered a one-year contract for 32–36 hours per week, with the intention of turning this into a long-term position;
  • Your salary falls under Scale K of the Legal Assistance Collective Bargaining Agreement: €4,989 to a maximum of €7,006 based on a 36-hour workweek. Salary will be determined based on experience;
  • You will receive all the standard employment benefits in accordance with the Legal Assistance Collective Bargaining Agreement, such as an 8.3% year-end bonus, a fitness allowance, a 2/3 contribution toward your pension premiums, generous parental leave policies, the option to buy or sell leave, the option for a 40-hour workweek and compensatory leave, participation in a bicycle purchase plan, etc.;
  • A second-class NS Business Card and/or a generous mileage allowance for business travel.
